Man. I wanted to stay current on this line, but I don't really think I'll need a $52 Vampiro with drippy Kool-Aid all over his face and chest. Yeesh. These toys are getting out of hand.

Bloody variants are lazy, unimaginative, and not something collectors are really wanting that much IMO. If you wanna do a variant do a different attire, or put the time and money into the rest of the line, e.g. unmasked Konnan, unmasked Juvi, and signing up more WCW era luchas like La Parka, Psicosis, Chavo Jr, etc. This line has good potential but they're barely scratching the surface and it's frustrating.

I feel like Boss Fight can't get full access to all of the Triple A talent, maybe only those they have signed to, like, management firm contracts with them? You don't see any Triple A logos on anything they release, so it's clearly a deal that gets cut at the "representative contract" level of things, in my opinion. Folks like La Parka (the name and gimmick is owned by Triple A) and Psicosis (who I also think is owned by Triple A) are probably going to need a whole new level of deal with the actual Pena family and Triple A, which doesn't even seem to be merchandized all that well in the States. |

I think they can only get guys that are signed to Masked Republic, so anybody represented by them might be under consideration. I asked them directly about Pyichosis once and they said they had plans for a figure of his. I believe they have the right for Nicho Psychosis, not Psicosis II.

Has there been any update on the premium wave w/ Vampiro etc?
Feels like they've been on pre-order forever, and I'm keen to get a couple, but just wondering if they're ever actually going to happen?

The new Vampiro is definitely a step up in terms of headscan likeness compared to previous figures, though I wish it was classic era based.
Still very disappointed and frustrated at the slow pace of this line, but at least the headscan likenesses seem to be improving.
Now give us unmasked Konnan and unmasked Juvi (both are signed! how have these not happened already!) and get cracking signing more CLASSIC names like La Parka, Psicosis, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Ciclope, etc.

Oops yeh sorry was in a rush when i typed that. Still would be nice to see another Ultimo though, with a different (i.e. better) headscan, since looking beyond the mask I think the face on the previous one is super generic and doesn't really look like Asai. I'd even take an unmasked Yoshihiro Asai from his rookie years, though I doubt they would do one. |
