For my own selfish reasons, I do love that "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel is at the top of the photo, almost as if everyone underneath was running on Diesel power! Ha ha ha.

Great pic....
Vince really did prefer face champs....I think Heel champs had a combined reign of just over 2 years from 88-98
Savage-2 months Slaughter-2 months Flair-3 months(combined) Yoko-10 months Backlund……….. Sid-3 months(combined) Bret Hart-3 months HBK 4-months
Now I'm probably a little off...but not much. so 27ish months of heel champs from 84-98....

It's crazy to think that's all he got as champ in the WWF compared to his time with big gold in the NWA in the 80s.
Definitely not Fair to Flair!

Even though Flair faired much better in NWA/WCW, he did VERY well in WWF. Many times, NWA/WCW guys coming in either got a silly gimmick and was made to be a joke or didn't get a gimmick and really didn't do much of note. Flair came in with a lot of fanfare, left with a good amount of fanfare, always had a storyline going even when some didn't make sense (sorry, I never got the Macho/Elizabeth storyline) and probably made a good enough impression for handling everything WWF asked of him to the point where WWE will probably always be willing to have him on the payroll unless he pulls a Snuka/Benoit or Hogan. So to make a long story short, he really didn't need a long title reign. Fans knew he was worthy of always having a top position on the card.

Was Sid really a heel though during his title reigns??
Like yes, he lost the title to HBK, and Taker, and beat HBK and Hart for his belts, but he was wrestling other heels as well during that time frame.

Crowd turned on Michaels, even at the Rumble when in San Antonio. Revisionists and somewhat WWE itself like to paint Sid as a joke or worse, a mistake. If you go back and watch he was clearly quite over and infinitely better than guys on YouTube would have you believe. Prior to that title run, when Warrior was gone again, Vince tried to coax Bret back early in the summer to take Warrior's place in six man tags with Michaels and I think Ahmed. Bret refused and Shawn told Vince to get Sid. His return was very well received. He pretty much jumped from heel to face depending on the night. Or was a fan favorite booked as a heel.

Even though I would've loved to seen him have a good lengthy reign, He still had one hell of a 16 month run.
As far as Sid goes, They tried to turn em heel as SSeries 96 but when the crowd cheered his win they put em in the tweener role instead.

No doubt he was MEANT to be a heel... Crowd just wouldn't have it at SS96... 😂😂😂😂

That's cool! Did you design it yourself? No I wish lol. I got it from a seller on Amazon who specializes in custom old school flags. I bought 3 of em so far. This one,Four Horsemen and a classic 80s WWF logo one.

Imagine how many wrestlers would be on a poster of it was 98-08? They started giving the belt to everyone.

HBK Stone Cold Kane Rock Foley Undertaker HHH Vince McMahon...…… Big Show Kurt Angle I agree with you on that other than Kane and Big Show, neither needed the belt. After that there's all sorts... Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Cena, Orton, Brock, Jericho, JBL, RVD, Hardy and that's only the guys to win it for the first time. Triple H, Angle, Hogan and others all had reigns in there as well.

The switch to Kane worked so well within the Austin/McMahon feud though and the "slow burn heel turn" of the Undertaker. Also added fuel to the UT/Austin dynamic for their upcoming feud. I think Wights contract contained a World Title reign within his 1st year. Vinnie spotted an opportunity to get the belt on & off him before WM season....but yeah it came outta nowhere really!!!

I don’t think bigshow getting the belt was a bad idea, but they had built him up so terribly in the year they had him that he simply wasn’t over enough to start a title run.
the guy was being dragged on a hearse, and only wrapped that storyline up THE NIGHT he went on to win the title.
