Do any of you guys know where a comprehensive Mattel Legends and Flashbacks checklist can be found? Im interested in both Elites and Basics. I've decided to go all in with them. I know I'm 10 year late to the party but better late than never. I have about 20 or so already mostly Macho Mans so basically I'm starting from zero. It will be expensive but I'm ready.

A current wrestler in an attire from 2011 is considered a flashback now. The summerslam John cena in red released last year is an example

Man anything that’s from longer than five years ago is a flashback in my eyes. Literally every figure from at least the first three years of this line counts at this point

If you're after every Flashback/Legend figure (Elite and Basic) since the line started, it is going to cost you an absolute fortune(!). You'll also have to decide what your cut-off year/point is and what constitutes a Flashback... as you can see, it varies from person to person. Man anything that’s from longer than five years ago is a flashback in my eyes. Literally every figure from at least the first three years of this line counts at this point I don’t count anything from then as a flashback. It’s hard to call a Batista a flashback in anyway If they were released today though, nearly ALL those guys (including Batista) would be a Flashback... I think that's what he means. Guys like MVP, Punk, Santino, Cody etc. aren't even with the company anymore.

Right now I would consider Punk walking out as the latest cutoff point for “flashbacks”.

The label on the box means nothing. Some of them don’t even have the word flashback on them. Elite 14 Rock was based on WM20 and came out in 2012 without flashback packaging but it definitely still was one (requires a headswap tho)

For me, it's all interpretation. I've set a hard rule of Wrestlemania 20 (ish, lol) with what I consider legends/flashbacks. It was a pretty significant change around that time in the group of wrestlers and a lot of the legends that were hanging on (Hogan, Hall, Nash, Bret was retired by that point) went away. Probably won't matter if we go 10-20 years from now and look back, I'll always consider guys like Batista, Cena, Punk, etc., to be a completely different era/ballgame.

If I start getting into who we would consider to be flashbacks now I might as well just get every figure made before 2010.

Well Scotty Too Hotty doesn’t have “flashback” on his box and none of the basics ever have so you’re playing an expensive game of semantics

None of the Flashbacks since the new white packaging (late 2017) have "Flashback" on them though... so you'd be missing out on a lot (Scotty 2 Hotty, Dude Love, Sting, Giant Machine etc). Figures like the Entrance Greats and Hall Of Champions didn't have it either. I think it might be easier to try and choose a cut-off point(?).

I get what you guys are saying. I guess I'm looking at it like one would look at a jakks classic superstars collection. Where for example Dude Love or Scotty 2 Hotty would obviously be a flashback. I do think atleast one Basic set said flashback on the packaging it's the one that has the WCW singles Booker T in it and maybe a Ric Flair in a suit I cant remember the others in the set.

Also this mish mash of series names Mattel uses doesnt help. Hall of Champions, Hall of Fame, Entrance Greats, Defining Moments, that throws a curveball at anyone trying to piece a collection together. Somethings going to fall through the cracks.
