So here's a question for all cat owners: What do you do to help deter your cat from eating figures?
I FINALLY found in the wild two Alexa Bliss Walgreens figures. I ended up buying the one with the better packaging (my Walgreens has shelves that are too small for these figures so the upper handle is often bent. Didn't have any extra Ringside Defender Cases so I just displayed it carded on my shelf of signed figures.
Now, the Walgreens I found it in has the toy section near the pet section (which is primarily dog treats). I'm assuming kitty smelt the treats and decided what was inside was food. In short,I had to go back out and buy the slightly bent Walgreens Exclusive figure as a placeholder since kitty tried opening the better one.
This is the second time this has happened (Happened with unopened HOC DIY figs). But the first time, they were unprotected on the floor, and I had bought kitten food on that target run. This one was unprotected on the top shelf with no food contact.
Any suggestions other than "Don't display your figures without the protector" and "that's why you should display loose"? Sucks cause it was really the best packaging I've seen from a Walgreens. Looks like it was fated to not be mint carded.

My cat will go after cardboard boxes from time to time... or one of my Chris Jericho books... but I have never seen him try anything on any of my figure boxes on display.

Get a dog and train it to attack the cat if it gets near the figs.

None of my cats have ever eaten a figure nor tried to. They like to lay in rings and bite the ring ropes though but never to the point of damaging anything.

Have you tried getting your point across and scolding the cat the way Eric Cartman would? I don’t have cats but I imagine, while this may do nothing in reality, it might be entertaining.

My figures are kept in a room that animals aren't allowed in. My Cat knocked over a bunch of figures one time and apparently ran off with a belt as I found it downstairs in the corner of a room so I keep them in a room with the door closed now.

I’ve owned cats all my life and none have ever chewed on any of my figures. Although this guy since we got him in 2007 always has to see any new figures I get and watch/play any video game I play. lol As a kitten in ‘07- Last week - And he loves to floss with ring ropes. And his other favorite pastime. My figures are kept in a room that animals aren't allowed in. My Cat knocked over a bunch of figures one time and apparently ran off with a belt as I found it downstairs in the corner of a room so I keep them in a room with the door closed now. Last night the above cat got into a huge fight with his brother and took out the bottom shelf of a bookcase that display 3 different DC/Batman lines. When the fight was done not a single Arkham game line figure was left standing.

My first cat RIP, never messed with my figures or display. His tail would go in between the figures, but none ever fell. My current cat, she will swat the belts around when I have them on the floor. Maybe get your kitty some toys to mess around with.

Theres one near my work that if I remember correctly is still MOC if you need one. I might take you up on that. I'm not too thrilled with the replacement I have. If you're in the area and happen by it, message me and we'll do the deal.Been to 8 other Walgreens since Sunday afternoon, and have found none. Got one more to try this evening and then I'll just let fate work its magic.

Not to be a downer on this, but I just wanted to say this: I can't bring myself to do anything BUT spoil this little guy. I posted in the general board about 10 months ago that I lost my first kitten I ever had at the age of 5 months to a rare mutation of the coronoa virus. After I got Butters I've done everything I can to spoil him completely because there is no guarantees in life. So, if anyone's wondering why the simpler solutions of closing doors does not work, it's because of this. Whatever this guy wants, he gets. lol On a more upbeat note. Thanks everyone for any and all suggestions. Even the door closing ones lol I just can't do it though.
