My love of the Hasbros series goes back to when I got my first figure in 1990 (Series 1 Hulk Hogan). It was difficult as a child to grasp why they were getting harder and harder to find and why they stopped making them. Years later, I was floored to hear that there was proof of an unmade series! Even more exciting was that it included one of my favorite characters at that time: Diesel. Obviously I didn't like him as a heel back then but when news hit that he had defeated Bob Backlund for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship, I was running on pure Diesel Power! Last year, Mattel announced their plans to release a Diesel Retro figure and I vowed to order it on day one...and I did. But that wasn't good enough. After the figure was finally revealed...I was left disappointed. I just was not in love with it in the way I thought I would be. So while I waited for its release, I ordered a custom (near exact) replica WWF Hasbro Diesel figure from CustomBoss as well as an Elite Diesel figure (just for the head). These came a couple of weeks ago but I can now share my Hasbro/Retro Diesel collection...paired with my over love: Belts! WWF World Heavyweight Champion Diesel WWF Intercontinental Champion Diesel WWF Tag Team Champion Diesel WCW/NWA/NWO Champion Diesel WCW TV/NWA Tag/WCW US Champion Diesel ECW World/TV/World Champion Diesel Modern Era WWE US/SD Tag/Universal Champion Diesel Alternate Universe Time Traveler Undisputed/IWGP/NXT Champion Diesel Boxing Champion Diesel Million Dollar Champion Diesel

The customboss Diesel is phenominal! I just got mine this week too. I like the retro though too, but it could have been better. Won an auction the other day for a Diesel elite, to swap heads and add a vest.
Love the hasteltoys belts, I've got those too. You need to put shawn with him in the tag belt pics.

Cool pictures. I personally love the retro Diesel. It was so hyped I really dig the fact Mattel over exaggerated a bit with the figure. He's huge, his head is bigger. Its stands out. We waited so long for a Diesel in Hasbro form, Mattel delivered.

In the Fifth photo from the top - the Diesel on the right is wearing a WCW U.S. Title Belt - where did this come from? I don't feel like I've seen it before...... it looks fantastic!

Great stuff, and glad to know that I'm not the only one who felt a little underwhelmed by the retro figure. As a kid, it seemed so strange to not have figures of so many of the top guys at the time - Backlund, Diesel, USA Lex. I'm really hoping Mattel gets those figures out since they have the rights to all the wrestlers before the line dies.

I just wonder if the Orange card series was released just how many Diesel would have been used/massacred to make nWo Nash lol.

Those are customs from El Gustahdore (I think he posts here but you can look him up on Instagram). My only knock on them is the poor adhesive used for the velcro. On mine it doesn’t adhere very well to the material used for the strap. It still works overall and looks great. He has done some other amazing belts worth checking out.

The retro looks like Kane when he was Diesel. Absolutely, one hundred percent. I'm with you on that one.

I like the middle the best. Mattel really tried but the hype over their Retro is too much. He’s huge, his head is big and I agree it looks like Kane’s “Diesel.” They really tried but I’m not for it lol

The retro looks like Kane when he was Diesel. That's Mattel trolling us. We all wanted a Diesel retro forever, so they give us a Diesel retro but it's Fake Diesel. They got us.

My general feeling is that Mattel went the cheap route but for the right reasons. They probably had plans to use that style for Braun and figured that Retros might end sooner rather than later so to make collectors happy, they made Diesel.
Unfortunately, the head isn’t good. Cartoonish is fine but it’s too wide and it’s color is off. I do not hate it but quite honestly, it could be much better.

the one in middle is better to me.
I just dont like Retro's i dont think. I was never a big Hasbro guy anyway. But ideally i would want Retros to fit in with the Hasbro line. To me they dont. They look too expensive, too big and skin tones too varied. Hasbro's were about cheap shiny plastic. Saturated skintones. and Small heads.
