Now that it's been over 5 years since CM Punk walked out/got fired from WWE, what are your thoughts on the whole situation now? Could Punk have handled the situation better? Could have Vince? Triple H handled the situation better? Could have there been a compromise? Quite frankly, I wish Punk would've left on better terms so we could've still had merch/figures produced of him. I'm sick of the "CM Punk" chants because I don't think an in-ring return will happen, though I think he will accept a Hall of Fame induction one day. What do all of you think?

CM punk has said that quitting the WWE has worked wonders for him, so who are we to argue?

Firing him on his wedding day and allegedly funding the defamation lawsuit are burnt bridges that cannot be repaired.

My thoughts on Punk are quite simply I liked him but I can honestly say I really don’t miss him. I don’t think I have rewatched a single match of his on the network since its debut.

I enjoyed Punk but as per usual McMahon fumbled the ball with him.....he was piping hot over that "walking with the belt" angle and they botched it.
1) His match was Cena was awesome sauce...but the end shouldn't have been murky & He should have been off TV with the belt for maybe 2 weeks after MITB.
2) As champ He needed to be the focus of the show with a massive feud...He wasn't. It was still the Cena show.
3) The whole thing with Nash was "meh" and it derailed his momentum terribly I thought.
Punk was a natural heel but when he was heel? I didn't really buy into it....Dunno what the hell it was.

I wouldn't have had him return until the Royal Rumble where he attacks the Rumble winner, Jericho I would've made the World Heavyweight Championship the title to contend for while Punk was gone

I think both sides could have handled it better but it seems like Punk and Vince are pretty stubborn so we got the outcome we did. I don't see him doing an in-ring return, nor would I really be excited for one because as we've all seen everybody is just a cog in the machine so while his return would be a big deal, how long before he becomes just another guy on the roster? I wouldn't hold my breath for a Hall of Fame induction or anything down the line either. Time tends to heal all wounds and in wrestling there's the old saying of never say never, but I think Punk would be immensely happy being known as the one guy who didn't come back.

I think he was just burned out from the business in general.
