If you were in charge, how would you do WWE's paperview set up. You increase up to 14 events a year or downgrade to 4. Everything else is in your control.

I'd split them into 3 groups. 4 for Raw only, 4 for Smackdown only, and 4 joint PPV's (Rumble, Mania, Summer Slam, Survivor Series). This way you could elongate feuds since you don't have to have a PPV every month for each show. It will also feel like guys aren't wrestling one another all the time, like that year it seemed Zayn and Owens wrestled every week.

I’d still have monthly blow off shows, but I wouldn’t frame them around being a huge event. that would be saved for the big 4 quarter year shows.
I think it would prioritize those four shows as can’t miss. and would help to have 3 months revolving times for building up stories.

I like your idea but I doubt they are going to go back to 4 PPV's a year, I would imagine that that would lead to a big revenue loss. 4 a year would be best to me. Rumble, Mania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. Every now and then do a KOTR instead of Worlds Collide. They can keep their other PPVs if they want, but cut down on the production and main story implications. Call them network specials if you want. But make the usual big 4 feel bigger than the rest. |

Well.. I'd use scissors and paste I suppose.
As for the Pay Per Views, I'd cut it down to 9-10 shows a year. Take an extra month or so off before WM. Spend that time building storylines and hype for the big show. And I'd rename them like they use to be. Stop naming them after a match stipulation.

December - This can be a foreign show in Saudi Arabia or wherever.
1) I eliminated Money in the bank because you have 3 other ‘reward future title shot’ ppvs in royal rumble, elimination chamber and king of the ring. MONEY IN THE BANK match could be at wrestlemania or even extreme rules
2) King of the Ring is back and could give us a break from the big names and push young and up and coming talent or use this to elevate someone to the next level. You could even make this a 2 day PPV weekend event and make the tournament 16 or 32.
3) Survivor Series could close out the year and the foreign December event could feature part timers and whatever matches the prince would like to make. This event would be mid December so the reward to doing this show could be being home for Christmas / New Years.

I’d keep the big eight (Rumble, Chamber, Mania, Saudi spring, Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, Saudi fall, Survivor Series) as they are now.
I’d make the B shows single brand - so Raw gets Extreme Rules and TLC, and SmackDown gets Hell in a Cell and Backlash, or whatever.
I’d do at least one or two specials a month that don’t tie in to the TV storylines so much, apart from one or two matches. Like doing a Rebellion PPV in Scotland, with a lot of the Scottish/UK wrestlers vs big American names, but the only match built on TV storylines would be Drew McIntyre getting a title shot... or similar with Buddy Murphy at an Australia show. Definitely would do a Japanese special event. Perhaps a 205 Live special, held at Full Sail or a small venue like the UK Takeovers. Or a King of the Ring show, maybe just with UK guys. Or more shows with just the women’s roster, maybe a Queen of the Ring event instead of King of the Ring. Just do shows that offer something different.

The Summer will feature 3 PPV’s
Both Elimination Chamber and MitB matches will be matches at WrestleMania.
The Survivor Series PPV will feature both traditional survivor series 5 on 5 elimination matches and a traditional WCW styled War Games match.
And here would be my Pay Per View schedule-
January - Royal Rumble (mid Jan)
February- none
March - WrestleMania (last week of March)
April - none
May - King of the Ring (Memorial Day weekend)
June - none
July - Great American Bash (closest Sunday to July 4th)
August - SummerSlam
September - none
October - Halloween Havoc (last Sunday of the month)
November - Survivor Series/War Game (Thanksgiving Day or Sunday after)

I'd get rid of Hell in a Cell and only use that match when a feud is really heated and needs it. I'd put King of the Ring in June so that creates an easy challenger for the July or August PPV. It would also stay King of the Ring because WWE is always changing the names of the June shows. March should have no PPV because 3 before Wrestlemania is just too much. 2 PPVs and a month of good TV is what Wrestlemania needs.

February 23rd 2020 - No Way Out - Dual branded - Will feature 2 Elimination Chamber matches
March 29th 2020 - WrestleMania. This event will feature the men's Money in the Bank - Dual Branded
April 11th 2020 - Saudi Super Showdown - Dual branded but has significance to storylines and will not be built up to on TV and will feature no title changes besides 24/7 title.
April 26th 2020 - Unforgiven - based on WrestleMania Aftermath - Dual Branded
May 31st 2020 - Cyber Sunday - SmackDown Homecoming themed to feature all the new stars from the draft and super card styled matches which the fans have say in voting
June 14th 2020 - Extreme Rules - Raw Homecoming themed getting all the new stars and big matches but this time it's all under extreme themes
July 5th 2020 - Great American Bash - SmackDown Patriotic event (Possibly run at venue near US military base to get a semi tribute to the troops feel and discount soldiers
August 12th 2020 - Summer Slam - Biggest show of the summer and Dual branded
September 9th 2020 - King Of The Ring - Event based on the King Of The Ring Semi Finals/Finalist the winner will earn title shot at next Raw event
September 30th 2020 - TLC - SmackDown gimmick themed event (I don't like gimmick events like this, but it sells tickets and is great marketing)
October 11th 2020 - Heritage - From Madison Square Garden EVERY year. Features superstar classic and present to battle it out as well as the King Of The Ring winner to face the Universal Championship
November 7th 2020 - WWE Crown Jewel - Featuring superstars from all brands in Saudi Arabia
November 15th 2020 - Survivor Series - Featuring series of inter promotional matches, War Games, Interpromotional breakout star Battle Royal who's winner will face a World Champion of their choice at Young and Hungry, use a NXT Invasion at this event to hype stuff up just for Survivor Series angle
December 13th 2020 - Young and Hungry - Features Semi Finals and Finals of WWE's Crocket Cup who's winners will face the champions at Royal Rumble, The women of WWE, The winner of Survivor Series rookie battle royal - Will not feature stars on the higher end of the card
December 23rd 2020 - Christmas Bash - Focuses on Christmas themed show, featuring all I want for Christmas turmoil match which the winner will gain A spot of their choosing series of title matches etc

There's gonna be 12 minimum so they can always advertise a free PPV for nw subscribers. Then you have the international shows on top of that.
I don't have much of a problem with the number tbh. It's the lack of a build towards them that makes them feel less special. You could say that goes hand in hand, but writing team shouldn't need more than 4 weeks to build to an event.
If they cut it down to 4-6 a year like some are suggesting, I honestly think I'd cancel my subscription to the network.
