The commentary would be a lot worse without Graves. Cole is Cole, and Young is abysmal. I thought after her stint on NXT, she'd be a good addition, but she's terrible, and needs to go. Having said that, she's not as bad as Beth Phoenix on NXT, though... What the hell is that all about? Also, do people really think Graves is being directed by Vince? Vince couldn't come up with even half the stuff Graves comes out with.

Currently no. Its probably the worst its ever been. Renee is clueless, Michael Cole is fine but repetitive (YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!) and although I like Graves, he can be a bit self obsessed. Byron is absolutely useless. Mauro is the companies best.

No I can't stand the new era commentary at all its so horrible and annoying I mostly watch with the sound off anymore but I'd gladly take Jerry Lawler Vince hbk Foley and regal as commentary or even stone cold I really think that the should just stick retired legends as announcers for the shows because it could greatly help the product by doing that

WWE commentary is the worst its ever been right now. Honestly check out Kevin Kelly and Rocky Romero on NJPW broadcasts, it's unbelievable what a difference truly great commentary makes. It reminds me of the great commentary of the late 80s/JR in the the 90s, it's that good.

I probably roll my eyes 10 times during any show with Michael Cole on it. He tries to force things way too often and they just come off horribly.
Cole was recapping the entrance spot with Lashley and Strowman on RAW a few weeks ago and they are showing Strowman being stretchered into the ambulance, Cole has to say "They turned their attention to the Monster Among Men Braun Strowman". Like okay dude, we get it his nickname is the Monster Among Men. You dont need to remind us every time we see him on screen thats his nickname, or even everybody for that matter. His entire delivery of that nights spot was so bad.
This past Sunday during Undertaker/Reigns V Shane/Drew. Shane has Undertaker on the announce table and hes going for the Elbow off the top rope. Cole SCREAMS into the headset, "NO SHANE NO UNDERTAKER IS DEFENSELESS!". Well, no sh*t Cole. This is an Extreme Rules match is it not? Should Shane wait until Undertaker wakes up from his nap to jump on him?
I dont know why but it irritates the crap out of me listening to this man try and sell something. Everything is just overdone and too script-like.

The commentary has sucked for years, and it only got worse when they added Renee. I would love if someone made youtube video with only her audio. To show she adds nothing to the show. OH! WOW! is 99% of the crap she says.

Idk if I can blame Cole or not bc he used to be entertaining same way Coach was but with Vince feeding him lines and micro managing everything maybe it seems less authentic when you can't say what you want to say and instead have to relay someone elses thoughts with your own emotion. Sounds like an exhausting job. If Vince loves commentary so much maybe he should go back to sitting at the table and wearing those hideous suits.

I have been watching since 1989 and would say that the current commentary is legit the worst it has ever been. I am so used to it though I am pretty much numb to it at this point.

Hearing Renee go "oh!" And cole go "wow" doesn't do much for me.

I miss when Smackdown's commentary team was Taz and Cole. So underrated as a duo. Cole played it straight, but he could turn it up for big PPV matches. Tazz was a cornball sometimes, but his technical insight when breaking down moves was always welcome. I only pay attention to today's commentary when there's someone interesting guest commentating like KO. Apart from those times, I zone out fast. Outside of WWE, I still miss Mauro and Josh Barnett doing New Japan on AXS. My current favorites are Tony Schiavone & Jim Cornette (w/ Rich Boccini) on MLW. |

The commentary is garbage. Way too many overreactions and “OH’s” at ever move, and the Mama Mia is the worst announcer catch phrase I have ever heard.

I love the Smackdown commentary team. All 3 of them work well together and are enjoyable to listen to. Tom Phillips is especially great. I've been fan of him ever since he started commentating on Smackdown.
I don't watch Raw so the only glimpses of the commentary team I get are on the PPVs. Renee's commentary on The Revival at Extreme Rules was just dumb. What does them buying Starbucks and spending lots of money have to do with anything?
