1993-2002. Why wwe never did one beyond 2002 is a mystery to me. I mean instead of stupid Stomping Grounds, why not King of the Ring??? Anyway from best to worst IMO
1993 1998 1996 2001 1997 2000 1994 1999 2002 1995

I can tell already there won't be much love for King Mabel. 🤣 Well not rating the kings, rather the whole shows. Either way 95 is the worst. What's your rankings?

Tough decision as I enjoyed most of the KOTR events. 1993 1994 2000 1996 1998 2002 2001 1997 1995 1999 Yeah, I'm not a Billy Gunn hater, but that show just didn't do anything for me.

1993 1996 1998 2000 1994 1997 1995 1999 2001 2002
The last two years I thought weren't the best for the KOTR show, since it felt more about just matches and less about a tournament to crown a King.

I preferred the entire tournament on the PPV as opposed to just the semi finals and finals.
That might be the only thing the 95 tournament has going for it.

1993 2000 1994 1998 1999 2001 2002 1996 1997 1995
1999 holds a special place in my heart because I remember being in myrtle beach for vacation and our hotel room had the ppv (just sound, scrambled picture) so I listened to the entire thing.

Totally agree, Mania and the Rumble aside PPV’s felt like just another show and something to set up the next nights Raw.

It's nice to see 1993 was everyone's favorite. That show was awesome! Bret Hart made that show. The bad stuff wasn't that bad.

Sounds like me in 1995. My family wound up on vacation in Ocean City Maryland during the 1995 KOTR but since I got most of the PPVs at the time we ordered it and my grandfather taped it while I listened to the scrambled version at our vacation spot. I preferred the entire tournament on the PPV as opposed to just the semi finals and finals. That might be the only thing the 95 tournament has going for it. I also liked the 1993-1995 full quarter finals. I get they needed to put the first few matches on Raw but I wish they had done the entire tournament kind of like the Wrestling Classic though I'm sure that would have lessened the overall quality and not given us the Bret Hart quality matches we had. There are few guys, Owen Hart and Macho Man or Mr. Perfect maybe being a few of them, who could pull off three or four matches on one show.

I didn't watch all of these, I think the last one I saw was 1998. From those, I would have to go with 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1995. The Bret vs. Mr. Perfect match from 1993 was my favorite match out of all the events I saw. Shawn vs. Austin in 1997 was a good one too. Bret vs. Diesel in 94 and Shawn vs. Davey in 96 were also very good. To me, Owen did the best with the crown, I liked that he changed his name to the King of Harts from the Rocket because of the win.

Jason do you have rankings or did you not see every king of the ring show? It's tough for me to rank but I'll try. I'm doing it more based on historical aspects mostly over the talent or performances. I stopped watching in early 2002 so don't know much after that period. 1996 (It may not have change wrestling on this very night but it laid the foundation for major changes over the next two to three years) 1994 (1994 set the course for the next few years of Owen Hart's career and he deserved a top spot) 1993 (So much good stuff here but this seems like Bret was given the win for losing out to Yokozuna and Hulk Hogan on the card) 1998 (WWF was very hot at the time and so many guys brought their top performances here) 2001 (Kurt Angle versus Shane McMahon was very memorable for me) 1995 (Pretty bad but I was still a kid and enjoyed some of the gimmick guys, I was a huge Savio Vega fan thought he should've won) 1999 (I don't remember anything about this one except Billy Gunn won) 2000 (I don't remember this one either except I didn't think Edge was any better than Billy Gunn, as a single) 1997 (Just not a Triple H fan and I don't like the direction the company was going at the time)
