So I am wondering if now that we've seen the utter brilliance of the Fiend debut on WWE TV....do you think the Fiend will be like Finn's demon character, brought out for special occasions, with Bray competing as "himself" some of the time ? Or, do you think The Fiend will be the only way Bray wrestles from now on for the foreseeable ?

This whole gimmick is ridiculous. It's WWE's attempt at being "artsy," and it's just dumb. I'm also surprised the nickname "Fiend" has never been used in pro wrestling, though maybe it has.

Sting wasn't The Crow on special occasions and neither was deadman Taker. Also Balor's whole main roster demon run has been a huge dumpster fire. In NXT it was part of him and used regularly but now it's just like he's getting dressed up for Halloween on rare occasions.
As for Wyatt, The Fiend needs to be his permanent in ring persona. Wyatt the man should be confined to The Funhouse where he does all the promos. This gimmick is unique so making it a dumb copy of Balors would be a huge downer.

Again, too many people have such high hopes for this character. With the writing staff the WWE has, I know for a fact that nothing good will come out of this.
Honestly, I wasn't that impressed. It's still Bray Wyatt, it still reeked of his Wyatt Family gimmick, only while wearing Doink The Clown's wrestling tights from 1995. Same moves, same taunts, same everything, except for using Mankind's finisher now.
I have zero interest in The Fiend, and when he turns face, and becomes a novelty act, the letter "r" will get added and he will become "The Friend".

The Undertaker has been a face most of his career and yet he's meant to be an undead zombie that torments his opponents. The Fiend as a face will be no different than he is now and he doesn't have to be. A monster character turning face doesn't always have result in comedy.

Have you not followed the WWE for the past 10 years?? The writing is just ridiculous at times, and unless Bray has complete character control over this, I can't see it working out well.

I'm calling it now. At one point during a Fiend match, Bray Wyatt will come down to ringside to play mind games with an opponent.

Bray Wyatt is one of the only wrestlers who writes his own stuff and is allowed to be creative... hence why it's working. But yes I am hoping he does the Mick Foley thing, Bray Wyatt, Fiend and the sweater guy from FFH!

Bray knocked it out of the park right when he needed to most at SummerSlam. As long as he can remain in control, I have full faith in whatever plans he wants to go with as far as the duel identities. I think it's a perfect balance right now with the Fiend handling the in ring stuff and the Funhouse segments for promos. Light years better than the old dark room Bray speeches that went nowhere. The Funhouse has the charm, dark humor, creativity and marketability-and makes the clear yet disturbing points perfectly to hype up the fans. And best of all it keeps Bray in a nice little bubble of his own world that you have to try and enter rather than him having to walk around backstage and have to play the whole 'everyone kneels to the mighty McMahon family' crap like everyone else.

Love the Fiend, even more then I love Bray Wyatt character. I became fan of Bray for his performance at Mania XXX. And I lost faith and interest in the character in late 2015, but I really really dig the fiend. And it should be his main gimmick.
The whole Demon stuff on the main roster sucks. I love Finn's in ring work, but I only enjoy the character as the Demon. I mean every time it's like he gets his ass kicked or terrorized and he brings it out and it's squash match. It's the same story arch. I would be bigger on supporting Balor if he was the Demon all the time.

I’m just happy to sit back and enjoy the ride - which ever way they go. Feels like (no great surprise here) we are heading towards Fiend vs Demon at Mania.

I was just rewatching all the Firefly Funhouse stuff and I realised something... In the first episode, Bray uses a chainsaw to cut the head off a cardboard cutout of himself. That's some pretty smart foreshadowing of the lantern.
I can't see Wyatt wrestling on TV that often other than a few squash matches in the build up to his eventual match with the Demon. Interested to see how it plays out.

all I know is it’s good to be a third generation wrestler who’s parents have ties with the top agents wwe currently employs.
who else gets as much creative control to develop their character and endless shots to redeem themselves despite being buried through booking repeatedly?
they barely even make ring shape. life is easy as a rotunda brother...

Wow, you guys must be fun at parties. As for Bray wrestling as himself... no, probably not.

The fiend will be the one wrestling. Bray cuts the promos. I only see this having legs for a year at max before it gets ruined. Vince can’t help himself but feed an up and coming heel to guys like Roman.
But that’s been the story of Bray’s career. Just when he picks up steam they kill him. Loses to Cena, loses to Taker, get owned by Rock, wins the WWE title then loses it a month later. I just don’t see how it works for him this time unless they have a long term plan with him not getting beat.

Wow, you guys must be fun at parties. As for Bray wrestling as himself... no, probably not. This place is so fickle. One week everyone is enamored with a character, the next week they are tired of it and ready for it to fail. That's probably why people here seem to never be satisfied with anything, because nothing is ever good enough. Personally, I love the fiend. It's new and interesting. Give it a damn chance. And for those saying tos too much, look at taker. No more carny then his gimmick.

There is no such thing as a loyal fan base anymore in WWE. No matter how hard a wrestler works they are in constant danger of being turned on for no apparent reason.
