So I've been a wrestling fan for maybe 36+ years now, was an avid Apter mag fiend, VHS tape collector, etc. In my prime I could rattle off everything you could possibly know about a wrestler before there was the internet. But I've only been to one live event ever in Toronto when Edge won the I-C belt and lost it the following night, and I've never actually met a wrestler because I've never gone to autograph signings. A buddy of mine met Chris Jericho at a bar in a hotel once and sent me a pic for lols. So I guess I'm not truly a hardcore fan, I don't know.
But my wife just texted me that her director is Bobby Roode's cousin, and I'm marking out. I mean Roode's not in my all-time top ten but I texted her back with all his accomplishments and his cousin just said I know more about Bobby than he does ha!

My best friend (who was best man at my wedding) went through training in the Dungeon under Stu and Bruce Hart.
That's about all I can think of.

My cousin’s ex-boyfriend used to work construction with Damien Demento. When he found out he was an ex wrestler he told him I was a huge wrestling fan. The next day Demento brought him an autographed picture to give to me. Funny part is he clearly took a pic of himself from google images and printed it on glossy paper at home. The stretched image was kinda blurry. Still really nice of him though.... My cousin’s ex said the guy was a total nut job though with a super short fuse. He said once he accidentally tapped his leg with a wheelbarrow and Demento flipped out on him and started cursing him out. He said he thought Demento was gonna kill him.

My mom and a bunch of her friends were the rehab RNs, PTs, etc for Droz after his injury. I never met him, but knew they were working with him.

My algebra teacher in high school was Shawn Michaels' cousin. It was kind of cool I guess. I thought she was lying, but she didnt brag about it or anything. She brought pictures of them from family stuff when some kid called her out on it.

My best friend while growing up as a kid and into my teenage years was Eric Young.
He lived behind me, and had a trampoline, so one day we started this thing called the FWF - Florence Wrestling Federation. In June of 1998, EY left Florence to train in Cambridge to become a pro wrestler.
The last time I got to see Jer (EY) was at Christmas time when he came home. It was good fun!

My parents live in Scotland and they were going to Florida on vacation (this was 2 or 3 years ago I think) there is only my mum and dad apparently in the security line as it was a super early flight when my dad noticed a tall dude behind him. It was Booker T. Now running into a wrestler in an airport during a European tour is not completely unusual, but what happened next kind of is. My dad made small talk with Booker T and said he was a super nice guy, but in the line up that featured Booker T a 6 foot plus dude with long dread locks, my dad who is also 6 foot and a biker complete with the leather vest, bald head and boots..... and my mum who is like 5 foot 3 and the most unassuming looking lady you will ever see. Security ignores Booker T and my dad and decides that it is my mum who needs to be checked lol. My dad said Bookter T, just said "this is ridiculous man" which I thought was pretty funny.

A buddy of mine is a wrestler. Just made this year's PWI 500 for the first time.
He was trained by Scott D'Amore and worked crew for a lot of Border City Wrestling shows. Has met plenty of guys. Jerry Lynn, Abyss and Waltman are the three he's told me stories about that stick out the most

Bobby's cousin (Mike) told my wife that Roode's really quiet at family gatherings - such a contrast from what he plays on TV. Anyways apparently this cousin is 3 years younger and was getting bullied at school back in the day and Bobby roughed up the bully and nobody ever touched the cousin again. Love it!

In the 70s, one of the Ferry boys who lived down the street from me was enhancement talent for the WWF whenever they did a house show in Allentown or Hershey.
The only thing I remember him doing was asking me (I was around 6 or 7) if I wanted some chewing tobacco.
