Joe was tainted and doomed to fail from day 1...
HTF do you not respect the Hennig name and keep him like that?
The others did, Orton, Rhodes, DiBiase... seriously think Orton could be running with LEGACY stable all along, he could be like the Godfather of that stable...
I hope Joe goes to indies really... great talent!

Give him and Bo another run with the Tag Titles and eventually give Axel a run again with the IC or US Title.
I’ve always been a fan tbh. He should have had a WWE or World Title push imo during his Paul Heyman Guy days... maybe one day.

Sometimes it feels like Vince keeps him around kinda like a final FU to Mr. Perfect. Curt had a great run at the beginning in WWF but after injuries and leaving to jump to WCW and whatnot and holding out for money and not to mention the airplane fiasco, I wouldn't put it past Vince to hire Joe on and promise the world to only cut him down as a rib. He didnt even train or plan to be a wrestler till nearly 5 years after Curt had died. On top of that, Curt & Vince/WWE never had bad blood between the two. Not everything is a conspiracy. I'd say Axel is just okay in ring. He isn't bad but he also doesn't stand out in a positive way.
I know Bret has called Axel as good as his dad but that's one opinion I can't follow Bret on.
And repackage Axel into what? Not everyone can be a top star and there's somehow simultaneously less and more room at the top. Axel isn't anything special but he could be a good hand.

The whole "genesis" speech absolutely killed him. If he was paired with Heyman, have Heyman do a speech. If a guy is horrid on the mic don't give him the mic. I actually agree with this. Mr. Perfect left WWF high and dry twice. I don't count the 1991 back injury but there was a program slated in 1994 with Lex Luger and that would have been much hotter than Luger and Crush and may have also sparred them from a crappy Tatanka heel turn. Also Perfect was in the middle of a somewhat interesting (for Helmsley at the time) storyline with Hunter Hearst Helmsley in late 1996 before he bailed again. Given how childish the 70+ year old Vince McMahon seems to be, I also wouldn't put it past him. |
