This is one of my favourite wrestlemania’s but does Anyone know why the match with The Hart Foundation vs The Bolsheviks was rushed?

1) Vince was getting rid of Volkoff & Zhukov as a team because of the real life situation in Global politics. Their gimmick was redundant. Also they were absolute jobbers.....may as well feed them to someone he was trying to rebuild on the way out.
2) Having the hometown team absolutely crush this pair was a great statement of intent to install the HF as the new #1 contenders to Demolition.
3) Vince knew he had The Road Warriors onboard he was looking at creating some new teams and signing a few more fresh faces...He was getting rid a of a few teams He considered stale or redundant. see Powers Of Pain for more evidence of this

Plus they needed some time near the end so Rhythm and Blues could sing their hit song...Honka,Honka,Honka, Honky Love!

I think Joker is correct, especially the #2 point he made, they were rebuilding the Hart Foundation and they needed a big win to make them look like the #1 contenders. And, having them beat the Bolsheviks in a very short time made sense, the Bolsheviks had not been on a PPV since Survivor Series 1988 - they were basically a jobber team at this point - so it would have looked bad if the new #1 contenders took 10-15 minutes to beat them. With that being said, even though I am a big Hart Foundation fan, I think it would have been better to have LOD beat Demolition for the tag titles. What they could have done was have the Hart Foundation win the belts at SummerSlam (the way they did) but have Demolition come back at RR91 and take the belts back then drop the belts at WM7 to LOD. Demolition could have complained that it was because of LOD that they lost the belts at Summer Slam which could be a way to give them a rematch at the Rumble. They could have started to build the feud between Demolition and LOD during this time (fall of 1990) but not have them wrestle on TV against each other until WM7, really building the suspense, this way when Demolition took the belts back LOD would be the clear cut #1 contenders at WM7.

I wouldn't mind the paycheck The Bolsheviks received for the show. Squash match or not, I'm sure they did ok.

The match had to go down like that to show the fans that the Hart Foundation were a threat to the Tag Titles. Before that match happened, Bret and Jim were mostly doing single matches for the past few months. Putting them back together and destroying the Russian's in like 10 seconds showed that they were ready to go after Demolition.
On a side note, Demolition vs. Hart Foundation at SummerSlam 90 may be the greatest tag title match at any SummerSlam, ever!

Other notables would be Hart Foundation vs. Demolition (1988), Hart Foundation vs. Brain Busters (1989), and Steiner's vs. Heavenly Bodies (1993).

Maybe.....but I doubt it would have mattered. The HF were being installed as #1 contenders. They needed to squash these jabronis the way they did to a rapturous ovation. Wasn't as loud as Demolitions ovation though...….

I love this Mania. The squash was absolutely necessary although it is funny how they still protected the JTTS Bolsheviks by getting jumped during the Russian Anthem singing. Even Ventura goes out of his way going ballistic about how the HF got it done.
I know that was Jesse being Jesse but it took a little shine off the victory or I should say it could have taken some shine off.

I'll never forget the pop Demo got. Talk about chills! I watched highlights of this show,as this is my favorite WrestleMania, ever! And when I watched Demolition regain the tag team titles,I did not only have chills, but became emotional and started to cry. For the life of me,I don't know why that happened,I guess they were tears of joy.

Demolitions pop on this show was 2nd only to Hogans. They were met with a thundering ovation for their entrance and the place came unstuck for their win....incredible.
