It's a carryover from the change Jakks was going to be incorporating into the Famous Scenes line, where the two packs would become a "Then & Now" sort of thing. The first set was intended to be Rocky Maivia/The Rock, Hunter Hearst Helmsley/Triple H, and Phenom Undertaker/ABA Undertaker. The sets were poised to be released at the peak of the Real Scan TTL modeling, but by the time they were ready, Jakks had begun moving to the RA style, and they were scrapped. I remember seeing this advertised in an old Toyfair magazine, if I'm not mistaken.
I loved this figure back then, even with the inaccuracies.
Still think the headscan is pretty awesome.
While Mattel far surpasses Jakks, some of the Jakks scans were far better than what Mattel has done.
