With SmackDown moving to Friday nights, I remember when they originally made the move to Friday Night SmackDown ratings dipped. They said that fewer people watched on Fridays because they were out doing other things and not at home like most week days. Could you see this being an excuse for when ratings continue to go down after they move to Friday nights? What other excuses do you expect WWE to use?

I tend to watch Smackdown live on Tuesday nights, but with my lifestyle, I can see it being YouTube videos or replays for me from now on.
Thought I was in the minority, but the move to Fridays has really bugged me.

You want the real reason, that they wont use of why no one is watching? One word- RAW
Bad shows after bad shows. If they use the excuse of people have a life on Fridays, what in the hell is their excuse for Tuesdays? Too tired from the Friday before?

I am legit gonna miss the Tuesday night Smackdown show. I am always out Friday night with the girlfriend, Tuesday night I was inside doing nothing. Oh well, I doubt I will miss much anyhow!

Fewer people also watched because it was taped so they already knew what was going to happen on the show by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I for one don’t mind the move, it gives me a reason to get home by 1am to watch lol

To be honest there will be too big of a gap between it and PPV's. At least on Tuesdays people only had to wait 2 days for the aftermath.
Having both shows a day apart was perfect.

WhatCulture had a pretty good discussion on the WWE move to Fox and what is going to be expected of them...
(Warning: 25min long video)
WWE is going to have to drastically increase their audience if they are going to keep Fox happy. But WWE still does not understand that they have to get off of autopilot. The "SEASON PREMIER!!!!!" of Raw was a good example of this autopilot. They are going to have to break the habit of doing the bare minimum. This is not USA, and Fox is not going to put up with it.
WWE is going to have to break out of mediocrity if they want to have any chance of pulling the audience that Fox wants. But I do not have much real faith in them being able to do that. Also, putting it on Fridays is starting out the gate with a disadvantage. People do go out and have lives on that night. Its the first night of the weekend. Smackdown is going to have to be ppv quality for the the next few months if it wants any chance of getting an audience back. It cannot autopilot anymore.

With it heading into fall/winter this could be good. People won't be out living that good life as much. Holidays coming can bring families together and pop on SD and recall old days and enjoy today's program.
