it wasn’t what it could’ve been, but it was something new. I’ll wait to see how the product develops but as long as we get quality storylines with serious depth where they properly sell the idea that two guys want to kill each other, and I’ll be watching every week. fingers crossed.
was very cool to watch. and I’m a fan of Schiavone returning but JR is essentially useless now. interesting considering 25 years ago they had a professional rivalry.

Im not surprised AEW did the viewership they did, though it was higher than i expected. Great for AEW, but this is only week 1. The bigger story will be what the ratings will be a month from now. Ive seen mixed reviews on AEW. I thought the show was good, though it could use improvement in certain areas. Im more surprised NXT got that low of a rating. I figured AEW would beat NXT the first 2 weeks

What a shock ITV here in the UK completely ed up the debut here in the UK. It was delayed due to "technical difficulties" It turns out these technical difficulties were them butchering the crapout of the show so they could edit a horribly edited version of it. I really do not think a brand new TV show could have had a worse debut than what AEW did on ITV Hub! Air the show later if you are that "concerened" about the content. ITV have no trouble showing this garbage called Love Island that has people strutting around in thongs, talking about sex in graphic ways, but they have to edit/butcher a wrestling show?

One thing I wish the major guys in AEW would start doing is SHUT THE F*** UP about WWE. Stop poking the bear. Now at first I was gonna s*** on Jericho for saying WWE is embarrassed for losing. Then i read the interview. He makes sense in saying yeah its not a one night sprint, but still, just worry about your show. And if anyone started "this war", it was you guys constantly taking digs at WWE, Cody smashing the throne with the sledgehammer. Omega with his goofy gimmick saying s*** about NXT. Like i said, the bigger picture is a month from now, and now that WWE has lost one week, holy s***, that sleeping bear is going to wake up, and its gonna get pissed. Yeah WWE is going to congratulate them, but secretly they're plotting ways to squash AEW like a grape.

Exactly! If Swagger would have returned to Raw everyone would be screaming how lame it is. He shows up on AEW and now Hager is a God. ing stupid. Lackluster show in my mind. The Cody match was just a lets kick out of everything showcase. That is going to get old quick if they do that every week. MJF is awesome. There is no denying that. That guy will be huge once his three years are up at AEW and he moves on to WWE. The "ladies" match was put on fast forward. The main event was not the greatest thing ever. Moxley is cool no matter what he says or does. Can't we just have Moxley all over the show non-stop?? Jim Ross NEEDS TO NEVER ANNOUNCE AGAIN! And what was with the swearing Ross did?? That added NOTHING and made it sound cheap. I'll give Tony a pass on the word "prick" because that just fits with MFJs gimmick. But Ross was stumbling way too much and freaking enough with Excalibur. Take the stupid mask off and learn how to call a match. The announce team really brought it down. Thankfully Jay and Skinny Bob did not get in the ring. Sure it was the first show and really, AEW arrived, they tried to kick the door down on TV wrestling but only managed to knock a few times before it was opened. It had a VERY Nitro feel and that is not really a good thing. I'll give it another shot next week. Hopefully I'll feel it a little bit more. But maybe my enjoyment of wrestling is finally going away. I won't even comment on NxT because I have NO desire to watch it at all no matter how good people say it is. On a scale of 1 to 10. I give AEW Dynamite a low 4. The crowd was super hot for the women's title match, and I thought it was the best Nyla Rose has looked yet. I still think she's very green in the ring so I'm glad Riho is going to take the lead at the start, but I definitely see what AEW sees is her star power. Also, It's 2019. Lets not go there with the air quotes... I absolutely loved last night. It was pretty much what I've been hoping for out of pro wrestling since I was 5 years old. I know the card was stacked since it's week one, but if the pacing and structure of the 2 hours are any preview of what's to come, this is what I've been hoping for. I know some people are going to not enjoy it, and that's totally fine, but I absolutely loved it. I'm also probably in the minority in that the attitude era actually drove me away from wrestling and killed my enjoyment of it for a lot of years. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love Stone Cold, Rock, etc, but the over-the-top soap opera dramatics, lack of actual matches on Raw, and complete lack of respect for women drove 13 year old me away for about 5 years. Monday's RAW ending certainly had that vibe again, and has me a little worried there. Every AEW thing so far has had me on the edge of my seat with goosebumps the entire time. A 13 year old kid wouldn't have appreciated the attitude era anyway - it wasn't meant for you. Also, I highly doubt you were that worried about the "complete lack of respect for women", at the age of 13.

Also, I highly doubt you were that worried about the "complete lack of respect for women", at the age of 13. Yeah...I'm not gonna go into my whole background, but at 13 I definitely was jaded enough to understand the content matter of the attitude era in it's entirety. The jokes and gimmicks did not go over my head. So I'm just gonna double down and say again that the way women were portrayed was a major factor in me stepping away from wrestling when I started high school. I don't really mind if you don't believe me. I loved watching Alundra Blayze and Bull Nakano battle it out, not a bunch of playboy girls running around while Lawler screams "puppies" over and over while a bunch of drunk college horn dogs go crazy over it. I wanted to watch actual wrestling, not soft-core porn. And before you ask, yes, I'm a straight male. Back to the actual topic, the above comment about the iTV debut definitely worries me. Khan sounded frustrated enough in the post-show that the partial iTV announcement leaked early. Going from that to the actual announcement, to then a botched version of the episode is not really a hot start. We may not have had much advertising in Canada, but TSN definitely did a good job of making it accessible within a day of the announcement, and have even written a couple post show articles hyping it up. Replay was easy to find on the website, they've provided the channels its on for the next month (There are 5 different TSN's, it's basically our ESPN). Ratings were good too. 109'000 which is basically 1'000'000+ in USA terms, and it was going up against a Leafs-Senators season opener, which is basically the Canadian equivalent of competing against the NFL on a Monday night.

Only about half way through watching it. But one thing I have noticed is the presentation feels and seems very Attitude Era. Maybe its a combination of the rock music, JR, and the camera angles.

How can you not make comparisons when they literally have Tony Schiavone on commentary & he mentioned how things were in WCW last night lmao When he said "we're back on TNT" I thought "This is AEW's first TV show though" lol When I saw hogan and flair talking on Raw I thought...hmmm two old farts that can't go anymore talking about going one more time. Where have I seen this before?... ph right...TNA👍 Lol

In a couple weeks, if AEW keep producing a show like their freaking "amazing" debut, they are going to get wrecked by WWE and NXT. Hopefully then all the little AEW marks with shut up. They have all collectively made me hate AEW before it can even get going. I predict 5 years from now Jericho will be back on a WWE tv joining the Vince McMahon kiss my ass club😂

I dont wish failure on AEW, but im going to be realistic when i say AEW won because of the curiosity factor, it was their very first show. These next 3 weeks will determine imo what their ratings are going to average in the future
