I know we don't talk current stuff on this section, but this thread is related to the current section kind of. Ric Flair and his promos. Anyone who has watched current stuff can see how horrible he is now on the microphone. It's pretty much cringe worthy. But this guy had some of the greatest promos in the 80s and even the 90s too. His stuff in 1998 in the ring talking about Eric Bischoff was magical.
So honestly, when was Ric Flair's last great promo that you can remember seeing?? I think it would have to be the "Abuse of power" promo he had on Bischoff in 1998 when he returned to reunite the Horsemen. He may have had some good ones in WCW after that, but clearly his WWE run I don't remember any promo he said that was memorable.
He may have had one with Jericho in 2009 during the Jericho vs. Steamboat/Piper/Snuka feud going into Wrestlemania, but I don't remember anything about it if so.

The stuff in late 98 with Bischoff promo wise was great.
I also enjoyed his promos during his feud with HHH in late 05 and feud with Foley during Summer of 06.

Ric Flair said he wanted to be like Dusty Rhodes. They were two of the best when it comes down to promos. Rowdy Roddy Piper is also up there.

My favourite Ric Flair promo doesn't event happen in WWE or WCW/NWA - it was actually in TNA. It was a "wooo-off" with Jay Lethal

His promos were always cringe worthy for the most part. This isnt something new. Im probably one of the few that agrees with Ole Anderson, I couldnt stand the prick. Well to be fair I think Im being a a bit harsh because Ive enjoyed quite a few of his promos down through the years, but even back in his hey day I cringed at alot of his stuff.
