I was just thinking about the fact that we have hit 100 (+) Series of Basics....that's truly incredible. Now obviously this doesnt count all the random PPV sets, and store exclusive sets through the years, its probably more like 140 at this point...but still, the simple Basic line has hit (and passed) 100. It would have been pretty cool if Mattel had brought back the 1/1000 Belt & Figure combo thing but just for series 100. I remember when the line first started and they announced those 1/1000 chase figures, it was such a great idea and especially since it was only going to be for "new" to the line guys. I enjoyed running to stores on truck days hoping to find some. Still have those memories of walking into TRU spotting that big gold belt on a figure and hoping for a low number For those who may not know, in Mattel's first year of the license, every Basic series that came out had a chase version of each new superstar that included a belt. The belt was metal plated, and had a faux leather strap w/velcro. The belts were individually numbered up to 1000 and had the Superstar's name on them Here's an example of one of mine: They went from Series 1 until Series 7, including the Pay Per View sets. After Series 7 they tried it with just the PPV sets and a 1/1000 version came with a PPV chair but those were just not as cool imo. It just would have been cool to see the Series 100 have the 1/1000 belts. I know its probably something they don't even have a mold or materials for anymore, it was so long ago. But still just thinking about where we are now with the line, I could never have imagined this day actually coming.

I think they should have had display bases and a sixth figure in the wave. Maybe that cancelled Triple H wearing long trunks.

How rare it is to find figs at retail nowadays, they should package honest-to-goodness gold championship belts with them. Heck, it's just as exciting to find a store exclusive and only pay $20 as it is.

I wasn’t a fan of those belts. They were made up titles packaged with some wrestlers who never even won a belt.

When the Mattel line first hit, I’d check each basic in case I found one. It wasn’t till series 2 I realised, UK aren’t getting any of them. So while it was cool to see all the threads on here of people finding them, I never got to find one myself. When they started doing the chairs, I found 2 Edges with the 1/1000 chairs and I always thought they were cool but just not the same. I wish Mattel had done something special Series 100, but to be fair the figures themselves are worth it for the headscans so I can’t complain.

Agreed. I liked the belts. Thought they were fun. It absolutely would have been cool to see them return for B100. I'm sure from a dollars and cents perspective it probably wasn't worth it to Mattel, but it would have been awesome.

A little off topic, but Mattel should have used that Punk headscan for the RSC exclusive with the ECW belt. It really captures his look from that time and doesn't look as cartoonish.

Would be great with actual belts, not big round weird disks.

I never liked them, because they weren't actual Championship Title Belts, and they were numbered. That would have drove me crazy. I do like the fact that they made them for other collectors, but it wasn't for me.

I much preferred the jakks 1 of 500 metal title belts as they were actual titles, not a cheap knockoff looking version of the big green belt with the figures name on it and numbered. The titles were WAY too big

These belts were trash!
These belts were the things I saw in stores that made me NOT want to start collecting again.
I do think the side plates can be used for the future big green belt championship that Hogan and Sheik had.

Maybe a 1/100, not 1/1000 belt would have been cool, at least in a generic actual current title style. Randomly packed in all retailer cases.
