Is there any chance, ANY CHANCE, we could get that NXT Roderick Strong?
And when a figure isn’t released, when it seems to have already been mass produced, what happens to it? Are the parts like.. re-used, melted down, etc...

Steve, To your point. Yes. Mattel was way ahead of the game. Mindset back then was Jaaks was a great great line. Will this new line from Mattel match? The answer now is it's even better! Yeah ... But back then the mindset was Matty and this forum was not fully packed with avid fans. They are now. The view back then was if Andre and King Kong Bundy are a part of Matty only this might not be the line for us if they are not readily doing popular legends like them. Now I think you could offer the Missing Link on Matty or pre-order and have soooo much more success then back then when people didn't know the game. I did get Bundy and Andre though. Question ... To start a figure from scrap to the stores is a year. But in the case like Jim Neidhart ... that is already made or Harley Race .... how long would it take for that to get stores being you have the figure mold? THANK YOU!

I am just curious and if you cant answer no biggie. For an example in the case of the canceled Legends Sting. If the figure had gone into production regardless of how many or how little were produced. If in fact they were in fact produced. What happens to them now that they can not be sold? Are they destroyed? Stored for a possible re-signing of the talent? Recycled to reuse the plastic at the factory?

Roughly what % of the total production run of the legends was available for preorder?

Hey AFA,
Is the legends series packaging going to be the same carded w/bubble style as before, or are they going to match the current boxed elites?
Thanks as always!

Do you think making an obscure figure’a attire to go with a well known match would help the figure sell? Also could we maybe see you doing specific matches in the same set. I’ll give you an example and kill two birds with one. Say razor Ramon was a less known talent and were going to making him, is there a chance you’d throw an HBK in that set and make them both in the WM 10 attire? I Hope you understand what or how I’m Asking

What has your coolest experience been working with WWE so far? Lots of unbelievable moments honestly. One that comes to mind was getting to tell Sensational Sherri’s son that we had a figure in the works and what the gear was. Seeing his reaction was priceless and I felt privileged to have played a part in honoring someone in the business I respected as much as I do Sherri. So will we be getting more Sherri figures?

Hi Steve ( Action Figure Attack ), when you refer to "retailer appetite" is the pitch always made by Mattel to the retailer, or does the retailer sometimes have ideas too (like "we would love to see a 96 HBK in an upcoming Elite series with a bearded variant")? Or does it not get that specific? Likewise, how specific do you get when pitching line-ups to retailers? I always imagine they're not very familiar with wrestling, and I'd be interested in knowing what their basis is for estimating consumer demand/reaction (like market research, outside studies, focus groups, personal knowledge, etc.)?

Some are more vocal with requests than others. Sometimes there’s no requests or feedback on specific figures and sometimes feedback can be very specific. There’s lots to account for when putting together lines and one off items.

We can certainly potentially revisit talent as long as they remain available to us. Sherri has some great looks to still explore.

A work in progress package was shown at NYTF. I’m sure it’s pretty easy to find. The packaging is an evolution. Modern Elite style package with classic Legends graphic treatment.

Roughly what % of the total production run of the legends was available for preorder? Can’t give you that info but the pre-order stock was a reasonable amount to give people a solid chance to purchase online.

If it’s just unassembled parts they could be potentially used on a different appropriate figure. Lots of options for lots of different scenarios.

A little less time but you also have to take into account acquiring the materials (plastic, soft goods, etc), getting them into a lineups, scheduling time at the factory which has a jam packed schedule with product already planned out way in advance and then product shipping to its destination via boat. Still a decent amount of time.
