Say if the UE line doesn’t reach your expectations in terms of sales and you had to cancel the line (which I’m hoping it won’t happen), are there any chances that we start seeing more articulations in the regular elite line? Double jointed elbows, more ankle pivots, etc.? Would love to be able to pose the Undisputed Era in their Undisputed pose or even have Styles do his glove pose properly (both with the hands out forward and over on top of his head). If Elite articulation was ever tweaked it would be independent of the success or lack of success of Ultimates.

I’m always very impressed with how you guys manage to get older names out that (I guess) are almost exclusively targeted at us older collectors rather than kids - roughly how much of a target market are us older brats compared to the younger generation these days? How difficult is it to get approval from either Mattel or WWE on names like Gorilla Monsoon or Don Muraco that the younger buyers likely don’t care about compared to Roman, AJ, etc., or do the sales numbers for classic names make them pretty easy inclusions these days?

AFA, You've made this forum part of my daily routine again. Thanks so much for answering so many questions! 1. Does the WWE Network help in terms of rekindling interest in looks for figures like a non Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase based off his Mid-South look? 2. Do you guys get any heads up that a character/wrestler might not have his talent contract renewed do you get enough warning to rush them into production like The Warlord figure? Thanks again! Mid South Dibiase is pretty doubtful. The Network does help keep the Legends fresh in people’s minds in general though. Sometimes we get word of availability or status changes, sometimes we don’t. It’s a complicated fast moving business. Piggybacking on this since I'm a spreadsheet nerd, does Mattel keep track of how long each performer's contract lasts, especially those under legends deals? That way, you prevent a rush to get a figure out.

I’d love to hear a truthful open answer about this The sales #’s are hard to say because they sell them to Target, Wal Mart, etc. but honestly what Legends / Flashbacks do you see warming? In Elite style at least. The last ones I recall were the heavily over produced Berzerker, Warlord figures. Maybe that Razor FB in street clothes or overpriced Entrance Great Goldberg Angle FB, Sting, Dusty, Dude, Taker, Mabel, Rey, and even old school guys like Kane don’t warm. Even a low card guy like Scotty 2 Hotty didn’t warm, so that says something I would love to hear the argument of keeping them OUT of the lineups makes sense (and I’m not talking about the niche guys like Patterson, Briscoe, Gorilla, etc. I think the WM only is fine for those guys. I’m talking legit name in ring performer Flashbacks)

Great question, it would be nice to know what percentage adult collectors are of the collector base but I don't think they have any really way to determine this?! Also, the way Mattel sells their product, there is no way to track how well something sells except by looking at store shelves. Products that move quickly are great sellers and those that sit on shelves for months are not.
A couple related questions I had:
1- How many spots do you allot for legends every year or is there no set number for how many legends figures will be released in any given year?!
2- Why are the 'collectors edition' figures being sold as store exclusives instead of online exclusives via Amazon or RSC?! Most of these are first time in the line figures and even though they might sell poorly if they were included in the main line, I think they would sell well as online exclusives. These are niche figures aimed at a niche market (adult collectors) so they should be sold in a manner that reaches everyone that would be interested in buying them. By selling them online, you expand that reach to include international collectors and since they are being produced in smaller quantities, the risk of them rotting shelves is very low IMO.

Any chance Heritage sets such as Mania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series could ever keep the design the upcoming PPV represents but add some artwork from the specific event the figure is based on. I know there’s a picture in the back of the box.
Ex. Upcoming Royal Rumble heritage Lita with Artwork from Rumble 2006 somewhere along the box.

Can we get Michael Cole in the line again as a basic figure or in a battle pack with someone else Seems like an odd want. He's fairly easy to find on the secondary market, and it seems like a spot like that would be better used for a guy like Mauro Ranallo, Tom Phillips, or another non wrestler we haven't gotten yet.

I would like to ask about how the decisions are made to short pick various figures versus double packing some
For instance
WM 36 Elites - Instead of everyone having 2 each Matt Hardy gets 3 and Booker gets 1. And it’s a BAF. Shouldn’t everything be even?
WM 35 Elites - we all know Scott Hall is popular. Why would he only get 1 per case and Triple H get 3? Again why not just everyone get 2?
And the regular Elite line E68 - there’s a proven track record with Daniel Bryan. He doesn’t sell that great. For whatever reason. Why choose to double pack him, instead of Braun?
E69 - Rey. I understand this choice. But to double pack E72 Rey, that is nearly identical?
E72 - Bryan (again) and Triple H are double packed. Why not Alister Black (that you know there’s a huge demand for?, maybe the tattoo color hits??)
That leads to another question. In some of these assortments. There doesn’t need to be multiple people getting double packed Is it ever an option to get 7 characters instead of 6? Or in the rare case of no store Exclusive, 8 separate characters?
Just curious how these things work

1) Are you guys able to still do DDP figures? I'm worried we'll never get his iconic diamond cutter shirt/jeans look he sported from 97-98 outside of that one Basic figure. The Elite opens the possibility to include a soft goods shirt & the WCW US title.
2) Not really a question, but Razor Ramon would be an excellent candidate for an Elite chase variant figure. A simple color change of green or yellow or maybe even that killer SummerSlam attire in textured silver (like the Basic, but fully realized with Elite deco).
Thank you for your time.

Guys... STOP asking for certain figures. He can't answer those questions. Please re-read what has been asked so far instead of re-hashing what has been asked already.

There’s a good mix of adults and kids who are into the line. Including certain Legends hasn’t been problematic at all as they’ve been used correctly in appropriate slots, especially over the last two year or so, ensuring they aren’t overproduced. The formula is working for them. They’re ever present in the lines and they are selling through and sell through is important so we can keep included Legends at this popularity level.

You’ll see more included in similar ways to all the Legends you just mentioned. I’ve tried to include a Legends in each Elite wave since coming onboard. Sometimes things don’t work out and a Legends get bumped but they’ve been consistently included throughout the year. One wave in 2020 will have 3 included.

Can the leg molds that have kickpads split into two pieces please be completely fazed out? They’ve been switched on most elites that wear trunks or shorts, but are still on a lot of people who wear tights like Edge, HBK, Y2J, Rollins, & Waltman.
They’re really annoying for customizing and the deco often doesn’t line up with the part that’s molded on the calf.

Just curious how these things work Mainline Elites are a case pack of 8. That means two will be double weighted. Your double weighted figs are your anchors of the waves. Your Batmans or Spider-Mans to compare to super hero lines. Those talents who anchor usually have proven history of sell through or have a popularity level high enough to greatly reduce the risk of clogging. Waves with BaF: Although many do, not every consumer wants to complete the BaF. Weighting of the waves is still evaluated by the talent included. This isn’t just done with WWE as you can see tons of examples with Marvel Legends where the same thing occurs.
