If we ever did do a John Studd fig again it’d only make sense to include his entrance robe. Giant Gonzales seems pretty unlikely as it’s been pretty well documented that there are issues correctly identifying his true estate. if so, PLEASE do his brighter 1989 red/white robe like the pic!

Can Mattel still make figures of Matt Bloom? I'd love to see a Prince Albert and A-Train.

Any plans to release or are there prototypes for any more of the dollar store gigs that then began being sold as a four pack? Any more of the foreign market 6 inch figs?

While I want that fig and it’s very cool, it’s not in the same league as Slim Jim Macho Man. That’s what we’re shouting for. The obscure talent as SDCC exclusives was never really successful but we’ve finally found the right type of offering for the SDCC audience. I'm not sure if we're on the same wave length here, but it sounds like you want a main event talent in a unique attire, and I'd personally love to see a Mattel version of The Rock as The Scorpion King. Jakks did one way back when and I loved it. Being from a film tho idk the difference in difficulty securing a Universal license opposed to the Slim Jim license My two cents here... I don’t think the obscure attire should have to reflect a non wrestling performance. If that were so, we could use any wrestler who’s been in a movie as an example but I don’t think they’d all be that sought after. I wouldn’t mind hogan or taker from suburban commando. Hogan from no holds barred or piper from they live. But, I’d much prefer random get ups like hbk dressed as hogan, or wedding tuxedo macho man... things they only wore once but were memorable. There are also many obscure gimmicks that depict main event talent that I think people other than just myself would like, for example kane as fake diesel.

I know the subject about WCW belts has came up several times but what about the Big Gold Belt? Will there be a new one without the WWE scratch logo?

Hey AFA, thanks again for your responses. I've read previously that Gangrel is high on the list of figs you'd like to make. If Gangrel were to sign a legends deal would there be any other issue with the name which could stop a figure being released? If so would it ever be legally possible to theoretically make a Brood pack with no inclusion of the 'Gangrel' name? Gangrel owns the name now, so there'd be no issue.

You said you're working on 2021 figures at the minute.
So are the 2020 sets pretty much locked and set at this point?
And what is something that could majorly change those plans? A talent firing? Major look change?

All uncertainties would be cleared before signing him, once he would hypothetically be signed we should be good to go.

I like to see Blade Runner versions of Warrior and Sting. On my to do wish list but that’s not a guarantee it can ever happen. We’ll see.

All i'm seeing with the new Andrade Elite is Benoit legs, so that's something i guess. Well that’s the only way you’ll get a Benoit if you really want it so find an R3 head

You mentioned working with the design team on gear choices; what were some of the first figures you worked on/pitched?

I understand there is an art to packaging and many of our collectors keep them in the packaging ... so for retail it is a must! BUT there are many collectors who rip open the packaging (me being one.) Is there a venue like a Ringside collectibles or someone else that could get just opened figures and save Mattel and the business (possibly the customer money???)
I'm curious how much packaging adds to the cost of the final product? Thank you

Why does the packaging change each year? I see many other lines that feature very little to no change throughout the years, for example, if you look at Hot Wheels from 1999 and 2019 there seems to be very little in changes outside of a natural progression (excluding special packages), but if you look at WWE packaging from 2010 to 2019 its drastic. It feels like a full on identity change every two years without letting you get comfortable and used to it. I feel this is like brand identity, when I see a Target or McDonalds I see the same appearance year after year. Sure there are occasional updates, but I don't know how I'd react if they changed their appearance year after year. Has there ever been thought given to keeping the packaging consistent and the same year after year and just let the series number do more of the talking? I think the last set of boxes on 63-71 were really great and I hate that weird shape the 2020 boxes have, I liked that they went back to just a regular rectangle
