Halloween Havoc was easily my favourite WCW PPV so many great memories from this one.....I absolutely love the poster for Halloween Havoc 89....LOVE IT. I plan on getting it done & framed soon.
HH89 itself is a great event IMO...Doom vs Steiners, Road Warriors vs Skyscrapers, Sting/Flair vs Funk/Muta are all cracking matches. Im currently watching HH91.....forgotten about The Nasty Boys vs Steiners….must've been just before they jumped to WWF
what about you folks?

Rowdy Roddy Piper's WCW debut was special.

Yeah the sets were absolutely incredible.....
I always wondered with the advent of the "PG era" why Vince didn't resurrect Halloween Havoc. Particularly on years where Halloween fell on Sunday or Monday.

I only had one Halloween Havoc PPV when I was a kid, and it was the 1993 edition, so it's always gonna be my favourite. But honestly, that was such a stacked show too! Flair vs. Rude, Vader vs. Cactus, Sting vs. Sid, Nastys vs. Bagwell/Scorpio, Austin vs. Rhodes, Orndorff vs. Steamboat, Regal vs. Bulldog, just a really good, solid show!
But when I was older and started to get copies of those events in tape trades, I did enjoy all the Halloween Havoc events until Hogan got there. The 1994 one - 2000 were just 'meh' to me. The 1989 - 1993 ones were gold though!

The 1991 event is one of the greatest blends about what made early 90s WCW so amazing and what made it so damn bad.
You have pure wrestlecrap like the Chamber of Horrors, but still several matches with great in-ring action.
It's got something for everyone.

I remember they put Rude in a black bodysuit and mask, but left the pornstar mustache exposed which was a dead giveaway.

The 1991 wcw Halloween Havoc is the first wcw ppv I ever saw. I got into wcw shortly before that. Imo it was a fun show.
As a 12 year old mark I was worried Hogan would lose his match with Flair and retire for good at the 94 show lol. Flair never really beat him before that so I thought at the 94 Havoc it would finally happen.

Thought is was funny that the one had two Disco Inferno matches, two matches with Rick Steiner, a bunch of silly stuff and the cut off of the main event. Prichard just did a watch along podcast with the PPV. So funny.

I had the VHS tapes of 1991 and 1992 so I watched them quite a lot as a kid, even if the events were not exactly amazing each one has something I fondly remember, Brian Pillman became a firm favorite of mine partly due to the 1991 Halloween Havoc. While the event is regareded as one of the biggest cluster s WCW did, Halloween Havoc 1998 is an event I have a ton of nostalgia for. I was so hyped for this event! Probably more so than any other WCW PPV in all honesty. While the storyline was dumb as hell, having the Ultimate Warrior back in wrestling was huge to me as he was my hero as a younger kid, even as a teenager when this event went down I loved the Warrior so him being back was great. I was also really hyped for the DDP vs Goldberg match as I liked both those guys, especially DDP. Of course, we all know what happened with those two matches, but when I think of the Halloween Havoc event in general it is those to matches that always spring to my mind. Also the Halloween Havoc set was always one that I thought wa super cool, I have always wanted the WWE to bring it back as a Network special, like they have done with Starcade.

Hogan vs Flair @ Halloween Havoc 1994 is easily their best match.
Rude's debut as the phantom and squashing Zenk was dynamite.
Id say Luger was sore after his match with Hansen....LOL
Outsiders vs Harlem Heat @ HH96 was a belter too.....
They missed a big trick @ Halloween Havoc 1998. Warrior/Sting vs Hogan/Hart. Hart & Sting could have covered up Hogan & Warriors weaknesses....Bischoff gets his big Warrior PPV payoff and We get one serious dream match. But no....Easy E & Nash( who WAS booking at the time) gave this one away on TV for free...with a screwy finish.

Loved the havoc shows. my dad bought me a vhs of the 1991 event and watched it all the time - and still so every year on Halloween! May not be as good in ring as 89 or 90 but loved that show. the chamber was fun (and so bad lol) the wrestlers arriving outside with Bischoff, the Enforcers attacking Windham in the car park but the Austin v dustin match was killer and the debut of Rude was one of my favourite moments ever. I was so pleased to see rude back in the ring after leaving the WWF the year before but it always bugged me how Schavonie called the finishing move the Rude Awakening. The mask he wore hardly kept his identity a secret but why call the move right before he was announced? Either way LOVE havoc and always will, well maybe not all the later ones though.

They could have, but it was wcw. That's why they were out of business less than 3 years later. 1996 had a great card as well.

HH 1996 was the first WCW ppv I'd ever ordered or even seen really. I was 11 at the time and ordered it because I'd heard of the nwo angle and it had so many "WWF guys" on it (Hall, Nash, Syxx, Hogan vs Savage). The Malenko/Rey match blew we away at the time, and then Eddie and Rey topped that when I ordered the following years event in 1997. But HH96 really got me into WCW at the time
