So, I was at the gym and they have FOX playing on the television. I walk into the locker rooms to change and come back out to hop on the treadmill to warm up before I do all of my weight lifting. I usually just take a glance to see who's on because I usually skip to the wrestlers that I only want to watch on the main roster and I could care less about everyone else. I saw Tegan Nox and Rhea Rhipley on the screen and I was trying not to mark out knowing damn well I marked out on the inside and smiled on the outside. Came back home, rewatched it from beginning to end without skipping and this is by far, the BEST main roster show I have seen in years. Seriously, if FOX wanted sports, why not make a deal with NXT in the first place? NXT is straight up, pure wrestling with a good amount of promos while Smackdown is still an entertainment show with very little wrestling.

To play devil's advocate, I'm sure Fox execs are thrilled they gave 2 hours to WWE to have the remaining Smackdown talent put over a different brand on a different network on a show that was seemingly put together on short notice.

Very fun episode.
I do think they maybe should have had Strong interfere to help Cole win. But the match was so good, I can't complain.
I wish McAfee would have been put on RAW with Dio & Vic. But from what I understand, he's gaining steam as a commentator in college football, so that may be why.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Fox wants Baszler & Riddle after this. Since both have MMA experience.
I think calling up Lee would be smart too. SD needs some mid-card faces and Lee is ready.

Best main roster show WWE has put on this year including PPV's.Funny how that works out once Triple H actually get to run the show and brings in his talent.Crazy to think and also sad that WWE is show loaded with talent that even with the majority of the main roster MIA that they still had all of this talent on hand to pick and choose to use.Just think taking out all of the talent from the Saudi show WWE still had all of these talents they used or could have used.

It shouldn’t be a pissing contest between Fox and USA. If WWE is healthy, all of their brands will be healthy. If you like NXT talent on USA, you’re going to follow that talent to Fox on Friday night. Both Networks should want everything WWE is doing right now to be great. That’s how their shows are going to be sustainably good over the next 5 years. I actually think WWE has done a decent job so far in moving guys around. Brock is on both shows but his movement has made sense. Last night was obviously a lucky situation but we might have gotten this anyway to some degree with SvS. New faces on shows make the entire product feel fresh. Smackdown is 100% more compelling if I think Keith Lee can show up and challenge for the IC title at random. Last night was awesome and should get people geared up for Survivor Series, which is great for all three shows. |

I’m not the person to talk about ratings and all that, but Smackdown ratings from yesterday are higher than the past two weeks and of course I don’t see any dirtsheets talking about it, I wonder why? Crab people? |

I certainly can't speak for everyone, but my interest in watching SD was higher than usual to begin with knowing that no one from Saudi besides Brock would be there. And the more than likely appearance from NXT once reports were going around that NXT talent were on their way. The unknown can be intriguing. Then they delivered a fantastic show, one of the best SmackDown OR Raw's in a very long time. I was pretty happy to see the initial viewership numbers for the show. Hopefully the interest from this can carry over to next week and even Raw on Monday. Hopefully WWE can also build on the quality of the show and give us some good segments over the next few weeks leading up to Survivor Series.

Raw and SD usually drop in the last hour anyway, I think, so I think that's pretty good to do the number they did with the NXT invasion and coming off less than a million people watching last week. |
