So WCW Galoob had exclusive to the uk figures. I presume this was because they noticed a gap in the market and tried to become the UK's promotion of choice? Off and on they had shows on free tv over here in the uk compared to WWE who only had a brief run on channel 5.

There's a question in that??? WWE was shown on Channel 4 on Sundays (Heat) but that was like a decade after WCW Galoobs and WCW being shown on certain regional ITV channels. WCW tried to compete with WWF around 1992, had Galoobs and Pin WCW sticker album here in UK most people didn't know all the Galoob wrestlers as WCW was so small compared to WWF
Most people knew only Sting, Flair Luger and Sid, and pretty soon 3 of those were in WWF.

Well in early '87 we got cable tv where I lived in Belgium and that also marked my first time seeing WWF wrestling I think it was on Channel 4, either way it was a UK channel with a 4 in it. By August '87 we had moved to another city, we still had cable but no longer the UK channel. Luckily a francophone channel called RTL-TVI also broadcasted WWF wrestling with co-presentation of Frenchy Martin. My first contact with WCW would've been 1991: I received trading cards from the people that lived across us; they had lived in the US for 3 years as the husband was a pilot in the army. I had no clue who Sting, Doom, Teddy Long, Dutch Mantell or Flyin' Brian were. I did recognize Ric Flair, Lex Luger and Sid. On TV I wouldn't see WCW until late 1993 or early 1994 on a German channel via satellite, I believe it was Sat1. By that time I had already seen NJPW on Eurosport (cable tv) and CMLL on Galavision (satellite tv). I guess the French speaking part of Belgium did see WCW earlier on TV and even received the Galoobs on Spanish cards.
