This was a WWF Title Match between Hart and Savage in 1994 at a house show. Apparently, Bret and Savage were supposed to have a much shorter bout with Hart winning strong, but neither liked it, called an audible then tore the house down. It's a camcorder from '94 so its gar from HD. I think Bret told a story about this match. Jack Lanza was the agent. You would think a match with two huge stars would be treated as such, but Lanza gave them a lame finish that kind of hurt Randy's pride as if he wasn't a main event talent anymore. They scrapped his vision and ended up putting on a great match. Lanza came up to both guys backstage after the match and congratulated them which resulted in Savage telling him to go kick rocks. 🤣 Haha. I could completely see Savage saying that, but with his finger being pointed at Lanza.

His 1992 reign was feuding with Flair essentially the whole time. Build up to WM 8, winning a great program with warrior in the summer with flair involved, and summerslam post match beat down led to flair regaining title the following week. Masterfully done. I don’t think there was plans for savage to hold the title more then summer of 92.

I genuinely don't think even Vince knew what he was gonna do with Savages reign in 1992. He had a LOT going on and the sand was constantly shifting beneath his feet. I mean...look at all the guys that left between RR92 & SSeries 92. Hogan wanting to leave left him in absolute freefall...his plans went to sh*t totally.

i wish Bret Hart and Randy Savage would have had a feud over the WWF title. Maybe Savage would have not left for WCW had it happened. After he was done with Owen, Bret should have feuded with Savage even if it meant turning the latter a heel.
As for his 1992 title reign, fine while it lasted.

Somewhat forgettable run, but his match and feud to win the title was really good. It's too bad Savage wasn't used in a feud with Bret Hart around that time as it could have been an all timer. It's easy to envision jealous Savage disliking the ascending star in Hart.

He had two really good matches during that time vs. Flair and Warrior. He also wrestled HBK a few times and teamed with Bret to face HBK and Flair. The build up to the match against Warrior at SSL92 was excellent as well.

I just thought of something...Bret Hart vs Randy Savage is like the alternate version of Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan. Dumb and trivial, but whatever.

I was looking at Savage's title reign timeline at the History of the WWF site, and found some other matches that I found interesting (mostly non-televised house shows):
During a European tour, Savage defended against the Mountie nearly every night
I found at least one instance each of Savage defending against Repo Man and Kamala
I think it was mentioned before in this thread, but several instances of Savage/B. Hart VS. Flair/HBK
Also mentioned, Savage VS. HBK
But for the most part, he defended against Flair. At first, it was Savage winning by pinfall, then it shifted to Savage defeating Flair via DQ (foreign object). Savage defeating Flair via DQ was the result of the match they had when I saw them live in Boise back in June of '92. Flair punched Savage out with something he got from he tights, and then pinned Savage with his feet on the ropes. We all about lost our crap when the ref counted three. But then he reversed it when he saw Flair drop whatever it was (it looked like a Popsicle stick wrapped in duct tape).
