If they’re going to continue to include NXT in Survivor Series then do you think that Takeover: War Games should be moved to October or December to give it a proper build? It feels like the feuds leading into War Games took a back seat the last couple of weeks so they can do invasion angles to sell Survivor Series. I know they want to have Takeover during the same weekend as the big 4 so they can broker deals with the hosting city and offer travel packages to maximize revenue but building towards two different events at the same time doesn’t work storytelling-wise. Especially when those two events are War Games and Survivor Series. NXT is supposed to be a unified brand taking the fight to Raw and SD but at the same time you’e trying to sell two opposing sides that hate each other so much that they’re going to “war” inside a two ring cage match.

I think they should do away with calling it War Games because from what I saw the first year it was “brought back” it was nothing like War Games. But yeah it shouldn’t be the night before Survivor Series if they are going to continue NXT being part of Survivor Series.

They did away with the triple threat teams and did 4 on 4 with alternating entrances.

I would prefer it to take place at Survivor Series.

They should get rid of it until they are down with blading again. As they should with any hardcore or cage match stipulation.

Isn't this now similar to when Raw and Smackdown had brand exclusive pay per views?? Few loved it, most hated it, and I have a feeling Takeovers will soon fall victim to this.

NXT won’t appear in any of the WWE PPVs after Survivor Series with the exception of a couple entering the Royal Rumble or WM Battle Royal or the recent call ups that continue to work NXT until they have an official send off.

Yeah if NXT is gonna continue to be on main roster PPV’s, I’d say so. No reason to risk a key story being jeopardized within the same weekend.
While on the topic... I wouldn’t mind seeing TakeOvers aired on USA on Saturday nights 4-6 times a year. May help bring in new viewers on Wednesday nights.

In my opinion it would be better to do away with doing the same invasion angles at this time every year. These superstars switch brands constantly, but suddenly in November it’s all about brand loyalty. Why do they suddenly care about defending the brand?
It would maybe be more interesting if it was presented as they have an incentive to win. Like title shots or special requests if you win.
Or just have matches where the teams are made up of a mix from the brands.
The invasion thing is played out, especially when they open the show telling you it’s going to happen.

MLB handles their all Star game the right way. Winning team gets home field advantage in the series. Could easily add incentives. Winning brand gets guaranteed #30 pick in rumble, losing brands guaranteed #1&2, etc.

I can't agree with this more.

I believe I read somewhere tonight's show is the last TakeOver that will be held alongside the Big 4. The next TakeOver is being held in February, two weeks away from the Rumble.

This is why I love Survivor Series 2003 and 2004 so much. The teams played into current storyline. Team Lesnar vs Team Angle made sense. Team Austin vs Team Bischoff made sense. Team HHH vs Team Orton made sense. But today, we have to ignore that half of Rhea’s SS team tried to take her out inside war games last night because they aparently all love NXT so much. I also agree that War Games needs to be moved. Unless Adam Cole comes out in a wheel chair tonight, not match with him and Dunn will be believable after last night.

Triple H mentioned on the post-TakeOver War Games media call that he wants to "uncouple" the TakeOvers from the other PPVs, except for WrestleMania and SummerSlam.
We know there is a TakeOver over the upcoming WrestleMania and SummerSlam weekends, and with the announcement of the TakeOver in Oregon on Sunday 2/16/20, it seems like the he is getting his wish.
