Remember When... - Wrestler's Titantrons were actually cool? Filtered clips of them in their matches hitting their signature moves and poses? How did we go from this... To this lazy bs... Especially for guys like Ricochet & Bryan (Who used to have a good one) - The stages were actually unique and had their own personality? Especially on PPV's. How did we go from this (2007) - To this (2018) - Titles actually had a prestigious and unique look? How did we go from this (2008) - To this (2019)

Remember the times before pay-per-views? You had to wait a long, agonizing week to hear the results.
I remember seeing the big red "X" come on the TV screen whenever someone bled.
The days before the internet, dirt sheets or strong cable systems. When I first saw The Big Boss Man, my first reaction was "Holy sh*t! That means there's a new UWF champion!"

In regards to the stages and the titan trons i think it comes down to one thing "personality" there is a complete lack of personality throughout the whole product and there has been for the last decade. I do not know how or when exactly this happened, but the whole product from a creative point of view is so sterile and "clean" that everything from a character and a production point of view feels overproduced.
I remember when things felt fresh, exciting, new, real, authentic and when a wrestler did a promo it felt like they were actually talking and not just reading something they were told before they came out.
the in ring product can be great and I will say to be fair more often than not when I watch a PPV I am entertained from an in ring wrestling POV. However in terms of overall personality and getting a connection to the characters it just does not happen like it used to.

Remember when wrestlers knew how to and used ring psychology to tell a story in the ring? Other than Jericho, Orton, Triple H and Taker that doesn’t happen anymore.

Before sledgehammers & circus mallets, the only dreaded foreign objects were folding chairs, Mr. Fuji's salt, the Moondog's bone or that big, tongue depressor that George Steele sometimes used.
Cameras going backstage was unheard of. Now more than half the "show" takes place there.
The only thing under the ring was a 3rd Masked Executioner.
Not everyone had theme music. Only Ric Flair, Sgt. Slaughter & The Freebirds.
Kayfabe was strictly enforced. You would never see Kamala or The Missing Link trying to rent a car by themselves.
You NEVER saw the World's Title change hands on TV.

Remember when a chair shot could feel spontaneous and exciting?
Look, I get why chair shots to the head are a thing of the past..... however, at the risk of sounding like a heartless SOB, the chair shots to the back (which I am sure still hurt) look like garbage. "oh my opponent has a chair, I better turn around and bend over slightly so they can hit me in the back" I get why this is the case, but it really looks bad so much so that i would rather just do without chair shots at all.

Remember when not every match was near 25-minutes and didn't include every move under the sun? Squash matches and job guys are needed. Man do I miss generic jobbers Before sledgehammers & circus mallets, the only dreaded foreign objects were folding chairs, Mr. I might have to disagree here. One of my favorite aspects of 90s wrestling is when they'd have angles that would have a common story throughout the show. Sometimes that would include backstage stuff in offices or whatnot. "Is Austin going to get here tonight?!" with accompanying footage of Kevin Kelly at the loading door waiting, some of my favorite stuff. Nowadays I find more and more everyone just goes to the ring and announces who they don't like. Opponent comes out, they argue. Where's the side stage? Where's the backstage interview Mean Gene style? Who's setting up these hunting traps and catching D-X? Where's the heel faction getting locked into their dressing room by a forklift??

man some great stuff on here....agreed with EVERYTHING.
I'll go a little more recent...remember when HIAC was the ultimate feud ender? Now its like oh We've been feuding for 2 weeks....l lets have a HIAC match this October.
The Royal rumble was mentioned above....so true. nowadays its means ZIP. you won the Royal Rumble back in the 90s/early 00s? It meant you were becoming a "made man" or you were already a concrete top guy. Now? It means you MIGHT get a shot @ WM....but if Vince thinks he made a mistake on you? you'll get beat or lose the opportunity before then.

Iron Man matches were actually an hour and not just 30 minutes. Which is just a few minutes longer than a regular main event match’s length.

Remember when buying a magazine was a big deal? Yup....every month I bought PWI, WWF & WCW magazine. Bought Powerslam magazine monthly until it went out of print. Absolutely loved "new magazine day" . My local newsagent used to get all 3 in especially for me....picking them up with my pocket money was a HUGE deal for me....I used to have WCW magazine 50% read before I got home....LOL

Dang. In the 2000s, I'd always tear up the Guides for the PPV ads and cut out all the blurbs lol
