I'm embracing my age and the decades-relationship I've had with wrestling. Thought this might be fun.
Remember when...
Pins were conventional, i.e. lay across your opponent, wrap arm around your opponents neck, and hook their leg? Now everyone and their uncle pins their opponent by laying on them with their back looking up to the rafters.
your turn!

Remember when championships actually meant something, and reigns that lasted less than 60 days was shocking?

Remember when mid card championships were a good way of building someone up to becoming a main event world champion. Now they win a world title, lose it soon after then there back to square one as either the US or IC champ.

When high risk moves were Superfly’s splash, Savage’s flying elbow or Orton’s Superplex. And anything else was only used on special matches on PPV’s. Now every wrestler does suicide dives or a superplex in every match they are in.
Or when hitting a finisher actually finished a match on the first try.

Remember how much you missed back in the day when you missed a week's worth of programming?
You'd think with how many hours of wrestling there are each week that'd be the case now more than ever. Total opposite. The oversaturation is real.

I miss gimmicks. They differentiated the wrestlers

remember when there were "good guys" & "bad guys" and it was a big deal when a wrestler would turn either way? or even get to see heel vs heel or face vs face matches?

Remember when the Royal Rumble used to be special, fun and a real highlight of the year? Now they have diluted it so much that I have next to no excitement for it at all, plus I swear it is getting worse and worse when the ring is full of guys for everyone to sit in the corner while a spot goes down in the middle of the ring. Having two rumbles per show sucks!!!! The Royal Rumble used to be my favorite show of the year and the one show I looked forward to more than anything else. However, like pretty much everything else the WWE has sucked most of the fun out of it for me.

Remember when a win or loss at a PPV meant you would go up or down the ladder and actually had repurcussions for more than a few hrs until the next Raw show - ie someone loses a big match at the PPV then wins a title the next night out of nowhere!
So many great points so far and I agree with them all!
Don't get me wrong there is some real talent out there today but I have zero investment in any of them like the old 80-90's time frame and WWE gives no reason to invest.

what I wouldn't give for unique looking championship belts again.
I get why WWE wants to slap their company logo prominently on their belts, but everything then looks the same, no prestige to it.
Everyone knows the winged-eagle and big gold, heck even 10 lbs of gold belt. The TV title was silver/red strapped and the US belt (circa 1991-1993) and IC and WWF tag belt designs were iconic.
Remember when masked wrestler X was a novelty angle to get your superstar back on the show?
Giant Machine, Midnight Rider, Yellow Dog, Mr. America, Juan Cena?
Or the Killer Bees with their twin mask magic?

Now every wrestler does suicide dives or a superplex in every match they are in. Or when hitting a finisher actually finished a match on the first try. I was watching a match between Lanny Poffo and Bob Orton yesterday and Monsoon/Ventura referred to Lanny's dropkick as a "high risk move", crazy how times have changed and it's now a commonplace move seen in just about every match on every card these days.
