What's your personal favorite between the two? Best memories? Maybe put them head to head:
Roster Storylines Match Quality
Or any other factor you want to point.
For me, although AE had HUGE stars, the RA era had the the best roster since we had stars from WWF, WCW and ECW and the better Match Quality. Storyline wise I think it's a clear win to the Attitude Era

Attitude Era. while you could argue that the best actual wrestling took place during ruthless aggression, we had by far the most rapid character development and storyline development in the attitude era bar none.

Attitude Era hands down. It was the most successful time in WWE history, the storylines, characters and roster were perfect and everyone had a purpose on the show. It was such a special memorable period because the WWE had to up their game to defeat WCW and it was a success.
I feel that the RA Era gets away with things that The Attitude Era got blasted for, for an example it was full of trash storyline's and then you had stuff like the diva search which basically took up air time.

Attitude Era for the characters.
Ruthless Agression Era for the Championship Title Belts.

I loved the Attitude Era, but when I look back at it now it's more for nostalgic reasons for what was happening in my life while that era was happening. I was in high school, had various girlfriends, nights consisted of either seeing said girlfriend or hanging with friends and wrestling in the backyard, or being at home and putting on a show with the BCA wrestling figures. Knowing every Monday night we would all watch Raw and the following day talk about it at school. It was just a fun time.
With all that being said however....
I picked the Ruthless Aggression Era as the better era.
The wrestling was just better. The story lines were more wrestling related and not shock value. I would rather see Randy Orton vs. Edge on Raw in a 20 minute match for the IC Title, than see Billy Gunn vs. Val Venis on Raw for 3 minutes.
But both eras are still better than what we see now from the WWE.

Of the two choices...Attitude, but I was a WCW fan then. My favorite WWF era was the 80’s.

The Attitude Era was fantastic and watching some of the Raw's and SD's was thrill ride. However, lots of crazy booking and some really bad story decisions filtered in. But, it was really good overall. 2000- June 2001 was fantastic because we got really great stories along with fantastic matches. Even to extent the Invasion angle was poor but we got fantastic matches out of 2001. Great character development in how they made guys like Triple H, The Rock, Austin from 1996 to devolvp into the main event players. It was rapid, but it made perfect sense and was so linear.
However, I grew up in the RA and will always be RA biased. I loved the first brand split, however I do admit at times they're was lack of balance. Such as SmackDown being garbage in 2004 minus the main event scene and Raw being really good in 2004. Especially between 2004-2006 I would rather watch Raw and only pay attention to SD's main event scene which always stayed top notch. But we got years like 2008, 2007 and 2002 where both brands were even. However, I find 2002/2003 SmackDown was better, but I enjoyed Raw as well. I think we got also fantastic story development and some amazing rivalries, matches, and content. We had real low points. But, nothing beats RA vibes for me.

I think the Ruthless Aggression era is my least enjoyed era of any wrestling organization. I can't go back and watch any of it. Very few eras of any company I'd put it ahead of. It doesn't even have any "so bad it's good" qualities. It was the start of a lot of what we see today. It was the beginning of bland, sports based wrestling. There's a huge amount of bums that hung around that era that went on to be nothing in the grand scheme of things, which is what happens when Johnny Ace is your talent relations head. It was all very boring and by the numbers. It also is the worst example (and possibly first) of WWE pushing a star that the vast majority of fans didn't want. Cena didn't start getting consistently cheered until he was part time and a nostalgia act.
If Batista and John Cena are your top 2 guys with Triple H always looming in the wings, you have the makings of a terrible wrestling product. The only consistently good performers in the RA era were Eddie Guerrero, Eric Bischoff and Shawn Michaels.
Fight me.

Ruthless Aggression era is good if I need something to put me to sleep. Otherwise it's got to be the Attitude Era.
