Just trying to think of which Mattel figures (preferably elites) would be historically accurate with the silver classic tag straps that Ringside sells in their latest 5-pack?
The only team I can think of is Demolition but obviously not with Crush. While the Hart Foundation would be another, the elite versions that Mattel has produced is from 1989-1991 and the silver straps were around prior to ‘88. What other figures does that leave?
Tito? His elite figure is from his singles run from ‘89-‘91 but did Strike Force ever hold the silver straps? The Beefcake elite is not from his Dream Team days (figure is clearly from his days as The Barber and his decade-defining mullet). So who else am I missing? All of Bulldog’s figures are from his singles run (by the way, who else would love a long haired-no braids version of Davey Boy circa late ‘94/Royal Rumble ‘95). I do like the idea of silver straps but who would they be used for?

Wouldn't be used for Demolition either. They won the gold belts from Strike Force @ WM4.
I thought they were changed from silver to gold in 87 after the Hart's beat the Bulldogs? Open to correction here because I'm not sure 🤔

Possibly Hart Foundation from their first run.

Possibly Hart Foundation from their first run. The blue Battle Pack is from prior to their first run with the titles I believe (1986 - Wrestlemania 2 time frame). So I guess the question is, did they release a tag title belt that doesn't have a single corresponding figure for the correct era?

I thought the US Express wore the silver tags first before they dropped them to The Dream Team. I could be wrong. Which would mean no current elites out there would go with them.
We can put a man on the moon and get tag titles that don't go with anyone but that yellow intercontinental title..

I think only 5 teams wore the silver tag titles, the US Express, the Dream Team, the British Bulldogs, the Hart Foundation, and Strike Force. As of right now, I think the only 2 figures that have been released that wore these titles were the Tito Santana elite and the Bret Hart basic from the Royal Rumble Heritage set. Definitely need more elite figures to go with these belts.

The Bret basic RRH may be the only true figure but Tito could pass for a Strike Force version since his attire hardly changed from Strike Force to his singles run.

Yeah Tito didn't change attire after SF broke up until he was the Matador. Even had the lightning bolt

No, I did some research and it seems these are the only tag titles they wore during their run and these were the titles they dropped to the US Express. The did, sometime during their second title reign the titles must have switch from the ones above (Volkoff and Sheik photo) to the silver tag titles, here is the video of the title change.
