I was expecting this thread to be much worse. I'd be ok with some of those rules, not so much with others. Specifically #4, I don't think 10 seconds is fair if for example someone not in the match pulls a wrestler out of the ring and attacks them. Surely they won't be back in the ring in 10 seconds. You are 100% correct. That is why I added “without unnecessary delay” referees would allow appropriate cooling off period. We think alike!

Other than #1, none of these fit the appeal of the Rumble match. Does it really matter if wrestlers don’t enter in 10 seconds? Does it matter that both feet must touch the floor to be eliminated? Does it matter that a entrant leaves for longer than 10 seconds without going over the top rope? None of it matters. Yup, that’s the key thing. I can see the appeal in a sort of OCD or control-freak way if someone is playing fantasy booker (“THESE ARE MY RULES AND EVERYONE IS PLAYING BY THEM”), but none of it does anything positive in terms of creating a more fun match - and generally these restrictions would actively make the match a lot less fun. It takes a bunch of options for creative spots away, and the obsession with the clock would just result in the whole production falling apart anyway. Are rules and regulations in MLB, NBA, NFL the product of OCD control freaks? It would do the opposite of what you think, it was cause wwe creative to be more...creative! They have :90 to get their spot in before the next entrant! I do agree the risk of the match getting out of hand is high but that can be minimized by a well choreographed and rehearsed RR. Don’t settle for a circus!

The Royal Rumble was created by WWE, the “rules” are whatever WWE sees fit. Adding some obsessive rigidity because it isn’t up to snuff for YOU personally is asinine. So no, these shouldn’t be adopted. And to even use “should” as if you’re some authority on rules in a fake match created by a company you have no ties to is ridiculous. This response is more of a personal attack on me than a positive contribution to the thread. What is one thing you’d like to see in the RR this year that you think could make it a better viewer experience?

I don't understand the whole clock obsession. It would screw up everyones timing on spots if it was that strict. I don't mind if the time limit in between entrants isn't EXACTLY consistent if it makes for a better flowing match. You do understand the clock obsession. And I’ll reiterate that a well choreographed and rehearsed Rumble would flow smooth. Having a visible clock on the TitanTron for the in ring Superstars would assist in getting their spots in!

Additionally be sure to follow @wrestlingfig4 on Twitter. They will be posting and holding wwe accountable for their entrant clock!

How is it a “personal attack” other than stating my opinion based on the thread YOU created? Get a thicker skin. Personal in that regard? Sure? I don’t have a problem with the Royal Rumble or its rules as is, so I don’t feel the need to put forth a fantasy suggestion in hopes of enjoying it more, only to be let down when my dream doesn’t come true. Sorry?

I agree with the both feet rule. It needs to be revised. But with Morrison and Kofi both potentially in it this year there is no way they're missing out on the opportunity of double the shenanigans.

I always enjoy their spots, but I also feel they could have some new fun with my proposed rule as well!

Jesus Christ these are some of the worst suggestions I have ever seen. Both feet touching the floor is the whole thing the Rumble is about.

Lest we forget that “both feet” shtick was created when HBK botched and had one of his feet touch in ‘95 and they kept it going. Is it only #5 or do you have any reasons why my other suggestions are some of the worst you’ve ever seen? Also I don’t think Jesus reads these boards.

So what you're saying is remove everything that makes it fun.

Let fantasy bookers book damn it. Obviously they own the name, but they lost control of other companies doing the same general concept the moment they introduced it to the public. And your contribution is void of a point because the whole conversation is in essence a hypothetical.

Just watched the 1988 RR. Their entrant clock was all over the place. The most egregious violation was between The Ultimate Warrior and One Man Gang, only :50 seconds passed of the 2 minutes The Fink declared at the beginning.

I’ve decided to amend my #3 proposed rule. Instead of a :10 clock each superstar must enter the RR before the next entrant. Just like base runners not allowing to pass eachother.
