With the Rumble in a few days from now, I thought it would be fun to discuss this Royal Rumble.
What looked to be on paper a great Royal Rumble match, ended up being just over 30 minutes of fast eliminations and chaos.
You had HBK, Bulldog, Luger, Owen, Backlund, Bundy, Mabel, among others in this match. Not bad, but a lot of the bigger names were in the opening matches. I get that they couldn't do double duty like the year before with certain angles that were happening (Bigelow and LT for the main one) but the year before in 1994, the Rumble match wasn't really full of main event guys either. So I am shocked they didn't have the 95 Rumble be an hour long too. It would have made HBK going the distance seem a bit more impressive.
So what is everyone's thoughts on the 95 Rumble match?? What would you have changed to make better?? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this one.

I think the very first time I saw this particular Rumble was in 2007 when I purchased the Royal Rumble complete anthology boxset. Shawn is my favorite wrestler so I knew he won from the first spot but I didn't really know anything else so I was looking forward to watching it. I guess you could say I found it underwhelming. As was mentioned it was short, not even 40 minutes long, and had a lot of jobbers and quick eliminations. There wasn't a lot to the Rumble match itself, but I suppose it did what it needed to for Shawn.
I do remember enjoying the Diesel and Bret Hart match though. I always found Bret was able to get a good match out of Diesel.

I really didn't like this rumble at all. i was getting the newsletters/dirt sheets at the time and Vince was just trying SOOOO hard to get his new boytoy over and he wanted him to beat ric flairs record of entering 3rd and winning the rumble. michelas complained he didnt want to do it for that long. so vince changed the intrevals to 1 minute so Shawn could hang the whole time and win it. and like u said it was just fast chaotic and wasnt like the old rumbles. just a tool to get Shawn over. didnt have alot of big names either. my fav part was bundy goin at it with mabel which says alot about this rumble! both jarrett & kid/holly wining belts was pretty cool tho.

Bad Rumble match but still way better than the mess that was 1999.I didn't like the 1 minute intervals.
Bret/Diesel was great though. They always had great chemistry together. I enjoyed all 4 of their PPV matches.

Definitely not one of my favorite rumbles. The matches were much better than the Rumble itself. They made a mistake going to the 1 minute intervals, the pace of the match was terrible - too many guys entering and leaving the rumble quickly. The only thing I really liked about this rumble was the Bret/Diesel match.

Man did this Rumble match suck. Not only were the intervals too short but the entrants were embarassing. The roster was so thin on talent at this time, double duty shouldve been mandatory for the undercard.

Razor, Undertaker, The 123 Kid, Jarrett, Bigelow, Tatanka all would've been nice to see in the Rumble, even Yokozuna as a surprise return himself. And plus Sycho Sid maybe as a surprise entrant, but I will give Michaels and Bulldog props, that was the only thing good about this Rumble Match. But it should've been more stars, Razor should have been in this match and won the whole thing, that's what I did in my diary, have Razor winning the Royal Rumble and challenging Bret for the title at WrestleMania 11 in my diary.

The biggest moment from that match was Bulldog's false win, and HBK hanging on the ropes. I remember them replaying that a thousand times throughout 1995.

I liked 1995 because WWE was struggling with the business.

Poor Rumble. Easily the poorest of the 90s
Double duty should have been 100% mandatory for Undertaker, Razor, JJ, 123 Tatanka etc. The roster was WAFER thin and it showed here.
Also the 2nd time HBK would get one over on the BB in a big match scenario LOL.

So just watched the Rumble over again after having not watched it in many years. Overall I'd say that the Rumble itself wasn't as exciting as later years, was a weird time for the WWF for sure. The only memorable moment from this was the HBK/Bulldog spot. Besides that, the rest of the card was decent as a whole. 1-2-3 Kid and Bob Holly as a team is such a weird team to me still to this day. The show is definitely worth checking out if you have a couple hours to kill like I do at work.
Note: Also, interesting to do research for this and see that Crush had the second most eliminations behind HBK.

Fun fact-The theme to this show was recycled for the SSlam 96 free-for-all show

On the anthology set the theme is dubbed over.
