Okay to sum up Roddy Piper's career during this time period: 1. Final match of 92 at Wrestlemania 8 2. Came back at SummerSlam '92 to play bagpipes 3. Wrestlemania X to referee the main event 4. Main evented King of the Ring 1994 5. Submission match at Wrestlemania XI, 6. Became acting President in 96 and wrestled at Wrestlemania XII. 7. After a hip replacement, worked as a brand ambassador for the WWF and left for WCW
Right after Wrestlemania 8, Piper was still doing Piper's Pit's (including one on April 29 '92 where he hit Brooklyn Brawler with the ring bell and his guest Shawn and Sherri a girl kissed Piper instead of Shawn) but Vince refused to televise them?
I know he did Roddy Piper's Bottom Line in 1994 for WWF Mania.
Was Roddy Piper just semi-retired? Only used as an attraction? Was he even interested in Wrestling full-time? Was he passed his prime though he was younger than Flair and Hogan. Or was he doing B movies projects?

he was just taking a break from the harsh wrestling schedules. trying out some more acting in small parts. he liked coming back every now and then and getting a huge ovation when he did.

Him leaving wwf for wcw in 1996 came out of nowhere especially since he had a good role as on air acting president of the wwf.

He went back to doing movies again during that 1992 - 1996 era from what I can remember.

He also took a shot in the music industry post Mania VIII when he recorded this...
I'll never forget them using this song on Nitro circa late 96 during his feud with Hogan.

I checked his IMDB during that time frame. Looks like 1990-1991: a couple episodes of Zorro 1992: Superboy TV show (1 episode), Silk Stalkings (1 episode) 1993: Highlander (1 episode) 1994: Resort to Kill (Movie), Robocop (episode), Back in Action 1995-1997 random other tv shows and movies
That would be around when his kids were pretty young, its possible he just wanted a break to spend time at home and use his spots on tv/movies to get health insurance.
