Target must have offered more money for this exclusive set.

What sucks is how much it was stressed that Valentine was going to be in the main line. This isnt no main line ita an exclusive sub series. If they are thinking legends/old gimmicks and attires are a niche market then ringside is the place to sell them. Bottom line is this sucks with this exclusive garbage.

Son of a bitch. I'm sick of store exclusives. I really wanted that Valentine but I'll probably have to pay an outrageous amount for it. Well if there weren’t store exclusives, it wouldn’t be happening anyway. So at least now you have the choice.

Target actually does a pretty good job at stocking their exclusive sets. At least for something brand new hitting it should be widely available, once things have to re-stock and deal with leftover inventory possibly holding up more coming it can be an issue just like anything else though. Seemed like every store in my range on Popfindr got Royal Rumble and Network Spotlight this year. Mania elites are starting to hit now too and a lot of them have been getting those as well. I’d rather deal with Target sets instead of Walmart. Will the Decade of Domination even get in stores? We know Survivor Series didn’t. I agree with this. I have been able to snatch up what I want from Network Spotlight and Royal Rumble using popfindr. The Walmarts in my area, on the other hand, have not been stocking regular elites let alone exclusives.

Mattel’s “sales” are once the retailers order them. That’s Mattel’s sales. And if they aren’t on the pegs in you area yet everyone is claiming “the Scalpers got them” then clearly they were on the pegs at some point. Or they they are on the secondary market like everyone constantly complains about.
Do I wish they were RSC exclusives? Sure. Or even better yet just a main line that everyone could carry? Sure, but they aren’t. So if they had to be a mass retailer exclusive I am glad it’s Target because other than Ohno I have seen every Target exclusive multiple times at multiple Targets. Where as with Walmart I only ever see the Legends exclusives once (maybe twice) at one store out of the five in the area.

They can be scalpers or they might pick up the figures for someone they know. The person they know might be a collector or maybe a scalper.

They can be scalpers or they might pick up the figures for someone they know. The person they know might be a collector or maybe a scalper. This doesn't apply to everything as there are certain items that are so limited they're considered "off-limits" to employees, but it definitely happens a lot in the retail world. I worked at Trader Joe's for nearly ten years and for the last 4-5 years worked exclusively in their wine/beer/liquor department. My job was to write the orders and most of the time I was also the one receiving those deliveries when they arrived. We would regularly receive some very limited/seasonal beer or wine and for most of these specialty releases only got a few cases. The routine was to first put aside some for customers, but we absolutely took advantage of first dibs. There aren't many perks working in the retail world, but that was one of them and I never felt bad about having early access. Again, we always made sure to put aside a decent amount for customers who were regulars because those are the people who keep the lights on. After that, the item would be up for grabs and whatever was remaining would hit the shelf. That might seem like apples and oranges comparing specialty alcohol to limited-release action figures, but the same rules apply across most of the retail landscape. Some people have an "in" because they know the buyer while others are truck chasers who stalk shelves daily. Unknowing employees get taken advantage of all the time in a lot of these situations. We had a very exclusive beer come in many years ago. Only received one case (12 bottles) which was supposed to be limited to one bottle per person. A lone customer ended up buying the entire case because one of the workers didn't know any better or simply didn't care. It sucks, but that's the cold truth about retail.

If these stores had as many employee scalpers as people say there are, we wouldn't be seeing all those switcheroos on the shelves. If you can't find the figures in stores, it's either 1) it's sold out or 2) they never ordered it

They might not have made it to the floor, but Mattel got theirs when the retailer ordered them and the retailers got theirs whether it was the employees or scalpers or other collectors got them before you. Mattel and the retailers got paid. But the people here always blame scalpers if they don’t see something on the pegs. My point was just because someone here doesn’t see it on the pegs doesn’t mean their area never got them or the stores lost money on them. With all the exclusives and waves that people here claim stores never had it’s obvious people found and paid for them if there’s members here who have them as well as postings for them on the secondary market.

Yea, ugh Target exclusives. Legends Series 7 will probably be plentiful like Spotlight Series 1. Beyond that though is what's worrisome. I've pretty much given up on finding Rumble Macho. I've gone to 8 different Targets and no Macho. 1 of them yesterday had the WM35 Elites instead.

Figures shouldn't be as stressful as sneaker release days. But sadly it's coming down to that.

Well, seems like I'll never have a chance at that Sting. The Target website sucks when it comes to these things and nowadays I just order my figures online...

UGH, these are store exclusive? Unbelievable.
I honestly don't know if it's worth the effort to start bombarding these stores with photos of empty shelves again..... I did it years ago - and the problem has just gotten much, MUCH worse.

More of me wishes they didn’t even make them rather than these store exclusives. Where is the enjoyment paying 3 times the value minimum. Reading these comments, I am more convinced than ever that the scalpers have deals with the employees. I go to 2 Walmarts like 5 times a week, in 2 different states that are 150 miles apart. How is it they NEVER any figures other than ones that have no value. Now would be the best time to bring Matty collector back.

YAY! Can't wait to pay $80 for Razor! Can't wait to pay $80 for more store exclusives that international collectors either don't get or barely get! #internationalcollectorswantthesefigurestoo

I've seen the other 3 from Rumble Series at a couple Targets once, but never Macho.

i've found every target exclusive series rather easily. took a few trips, but i still found what i wanted...and the rest of each series. i'm not at all worried about finding this one.
edit: and honestly, i've only even justified each trip with the fact i needed to buy something else. "crap, i'm almost out of toothpaste. well, i'll go to target...maybe network spotlight diesel will be on the pegs." and sure enough, there he was
