Obtained some Tonka WWF Buddies recently in pretty dirty condition. Considered just washing them as mentioned in other threads, but decided to go the extra mile and pull the old gross stuffing out. Washed the “skins” as my wife called then and they look great. Restuffed one with new cotton, but it just seems too light in comparison to what it was. Any ideas as far as what kind of cotton stuffing might compare to what was originally inside?

Not the same brand, but probably pretty close.

Did you undo the stitching and restitch or just slice a whole in back and restitch? Can you see the repair job? Also how big was the hole you made? Would love to see pictures as thought about this so many times myself to do!

Would love to see pictures as thought about this so many times myself to do! Sorry about the delay! My wife is actually taking care of this project for me. I couple of the Buddies I bought used and already had a hole in the back. Otherwise, she is using a seen ripper to get things started. She is then soaking the “skins” in water with a safe detergent. They are all in different stages right now, but look great! With the material they are being stuffed with, they are a little “puffier” and a bit lighter than they were with the original stuffing.
