Lol I guess CM Punk decided to post, what a lot of people were thinking when the announcement was made, about how that's one way to not have people boo when Roman wins. That match is the one match on the card, that should be in front of no crowd, because you know including both of their entrances, it will last, what maybe 5 minutes, and have the fans crap all over it.

I don’t remember being this pissed off at something wrestling related ever, I can’t even put it into words. Just postpone the f*cking show! Nobody knows when it will be safe to hold events of that size.

A funhouse themed Mania with the arena full of puppets would be cool.
You could also have Rambling Rabbit and Huskis on commentary.

Has anybody else realised that “cancelled” is spelt wrong in the title? lol

Just a FYI... as per request, now that we know, tomorrow I'll be cleaning this thread up a lil and merging it to the WM thread.
Screw it. It's done.

Sucks for all involved, but I'm ok with it. Lets say they could have postponed it for two months. Cena may not even be available because of movie commitments, and there is no way WWE could have kept these feuds simmering for that long, especially doing tv the way they have to do it for the foreseeable future. good points...but ill counter.... you dont "need" Cena at Wrestlemania. They could book Cena/Fiend at any show over the next month...or even have it be like another final deletion style....outside an arena. storylines can be put on hold easily. we all know the deal, the fans would actually understand it, despite what vince might think. you can easily shift the focus to something else for the time being and pick up where we left off later on. this is wrestling where they can change anything on the fly and run with it

Wonder what happens if one of their main stars (Brock, Cena, Taker, Drew, Becky, etc...) goes down with Coronavirus. We could honestly end up with a Great American Bash 2006 situation. I really just wish they'd postpone this. Id rather they take a few months off if necessary and come pick up where they left off once everything blows over.

It has been reported that both NXT and the Hall of Fame ceremony have been cancelled as well or at the very least will not be taking place WM weekend.

Are you freaking kidding me? Are they really not delaying this, and instead are actually going to hold their biggest event of the year, in a tiny, empty performance center? Seriously?

I was just thinking, now is the perfect opportunity to break WM into two nights. There’s no crowd to consider, TakeOver is cancelled, and it’ll give the matches more time to breathe.

If this actually goes down in the Performance Center, it's gonna be one of the most surreal things ever witnessed.

I wouldn't have watched Mania either way, but if I was and this was the plan I'd be opting out. Terrible decision.
How do they plan on doing that many live matches in an empty building without the mic's picking it up when they're calling spots?

what a novel disaster. sorry to hear this news for the fans who were planning to attend.
I think on a certain level, it’s incredibly historical. this is the first (and hopefully last) no audience wrestlemania, let alone major wrestling event. it’s like seeing sports from the Cold War or something.
I’m not into the product enough to be hindered by this. let the show go on I say.

It sucks that one of the cooler looking, and more stacked WrestleMania's in recent memory is being thrown around and likely going to be a dud.
The move to the PC is stupid, it's stripping Mania of everything that makes it Mania... And it's screwing over EVERY fan to buy a ticket/package. - The grand stage - The large crowd - The bright lights - The pyro - The overall 'big fight feel' atmosphere
They should have postponed the event until around June. People can wait, and the majority of people would rather wait a little longer while keeping WrestleMania what it is, rather than stripping it of its image and keeping it on. Plus it gives those who bought a ticket, a chance to honour that ticket and still attend, especially international fans.
Plus with that, they can still keep the storylines somewhat fresh and build them more, instead of putting something together and giving it less than 3 weeks to build. They can play off ideas like: - "You're lucky WM was postponed, because you need all the time you can get to prepare for me" - "Enjoy the extra time you have with the title, because when WM comes around i'm taking it"
Regardless, the health and safety of people come first and they did the right thing cancelling the show at the Stadium... They just should have postponed it instead of moving it to an empty Performance Center.

They seriously can’t just hold it at the arena they were going to use for the HOF ceremony, and NXT Takeover? It’s a nice sized arena that would get the job done.
It’s the same arena where Survivor Series 2000 took place. It’d have no crowd, but at least the place would be big enough to have a decent, proper stage, where it would still have that “Wrestlemania feel”.
I miss Wrestlemania in arenas, anyway. Either way, this is still one of the dumbest decisions I have ever seen from this company, and that’s saying something.

Either way, this is still one of the dumbest decisions I have ever seen from this company, and that’s saying something. It would still be an empty arena so I'm assuming it simply comes down to a basic cost decision. They already own the PC so it won't cost them anything to host an event they are already losing millions on as opposed to paying for an arena for one night to serve the same purpose. I do agree that Wrestlemania is all about the atmosphere and this move to the PC will kill any of that. A few of us went to a local indy show in NJ last year that took place in a firehouse. Crazy to think that event will have a bigger crowd than WM this year. This will undoubtedly crush their Network subscriber count as well. I know they bank on a big surge every year during WM season. No chance the casual fan tunes in when they find out the biggest show of the year will take place in an abandoned gym with no audience.
