THE LINKS HAVE GOTTEN CENSORED, I DON'T KNOW WHY
Looks amazing so far. I'll post more if I see more.
Info of Guy and the two Dolls along with Gouken and the future of SF (credit MidniteSuby on AF):
I was at the Con last night and had the opportunity to speak to Jerry briefly(very friendly and easy guy to chat with) and here are some of the things he mentioned.
Round 5's no show - Guy and Juni/Juli are done but there was not enough time to paint them so Jerry decided to hold them back til a later date. I'm not sure what the status on Rolento is.
Gouken-- Jerry is not please with the chinese factory on using a cheap flimsy plastic for the Gouken packaging shell. Once you get your figure, you will notice the upper corners of the shell will fold/lean in one direction rather than point straight up. In regards to the missing Hadouken accessory, the factory accidentally filled in the holes(that were to hold the piece in place) on Gouken's palm thinking it was a mistake with the prototype. By the time Jerry and crew caught the mistake, it was already to late to rectify for the Con
Future SF Rounds - SOTA's new web site(a very expensive one) will debut in October and be the main vehicle in which their products will be sold. Starting with Zangief, one SF figure will be release each month. Yes, you heard right. A new figure each month. According to Jerry, this new method will drastically save the company more money because SOTA no longer has to go through major B&M stores that previously took a big cut when they purchased their figurs for only $5-6 each. Jerry thinks it's much easier on the factories to concentrate on one figure at a time rather than all 5 at once. I personally think this is a great idea because 1, it takes the sting out of our wallets because the spending is now distributed over time rather than all at once. 2. no more endless waiting because we will now have a grand new figure each month =)
Anyway, that's about all i remember from the chat. Hopefully i wasn't distracted by my excitement in meeting Jerry and mis-heard anything during the conversation. But if i did, i'm sure Jerry will make an official announcement soon and clear up the details.
Jerry's response to complaints of Round 6(no annoucement will be made):
Update from Jerry, the president of SOTA:
Boy oh boy some of you sure can be whiney
No we didnt count the votes..there was no point when we recently commited to going to one figure per month. The one figure per month model does not work well with the voting structure previously set.
Even if we went with the votes I wouldnt announce them as the first figure would be too far in the future. Announcing 'Dhalsim' today when he wouldnt come out until next June is a bit ridiculous. We will announce 6 months ahead of time from now on.
So in theory..you will find out who the first Round 6 figure is in January. We will put votes up in November for this figure on the new website.
I really doubt anyone who loves Street Fighter and its figure line will stop buying them because ive changed how it works..and if there a few people out there who think like that , they are the ones who will miss out. I believe the term is 'cutting off ones nose to spite ones face'.
Personally I love the idea of one figure a month..I think its fun..gives you something every month to get excited by. It also makes it much easier on us financially and on the factory in terms of production.
The only semi confusing thing right now is if our fans overseas will get one figure per month of if they will get complete rounds...we're still talking to the overseas distributors on that. i HOPE they go with one figure per month.
And yes..we are moving forward with the 'online' only model in the USA...the rest of the world should still have them in stores. I know some of you hate buying online..I hate buying online myself..but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
