If it's anything like WWE Allstars with the fun over the top gameplay then i'm in, my single worry is that it's 1 v 1 only, i'm hoping we get atleast 4 wrestlers in the ring at a time. I'm all for something different on the side besides WWE 2K clone of the year. :]

I don’t mind over the top arcade style wrestling games. WrestleMania, In Your House, All Stars, Def Jam all were fun games with over exaggerated moves. I’m not a fan of the character models but it’s gonna mainly come down to how it plays. I only really care about is if it’s fun with a simple grapple system.

I think I'll like this game from what I've seen so far. The models remind me of the Mattel WWE Rumblers series.

Can't wait for them to drop the game like they did with the first NBA Playgrounds, where it didn't have online multiplayer at launch. By the time it was implemented, I had gotten bored of the game.

I feel like this is the year we should have got a No Mercy or HCTP remaster, like how they're finally doing it the right way with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. Seriously, how awesome would it be to have the top guys from 2000 and 2003 plus modern wrestlers, to go along AKI and HCTP styled gameplay. But nope, we're getting this instead.

Man, it just looks bad. At least when they released All-Stars, you had some hype for it, because it part of the return of Randy Savage to the WWE fold.

The big issue might be the code base for those games not existing anymore.

Yeah I don’t understand with how every company is trying to sell us on nostalgia and how No Mercy is easily considered one of the all time best wrestling games why we haven’t gotten some sort of remaster other than homebrew mods.

My guess is that, unlike THPS where Activision acquired Neversoft and probably gained access to the code base for their games, NM/HCTP were done by developers contracted by THQ and they didn't retain the code base for the games.
