Wouldn't be fair on his kids if he sold. They're the ones who should inherit. I just couldn't imagine the WWE without the McMahons in charge.

IF (BIG mother loving IF) Vince sold... I'm sure he would put it into the contract that Stephanie, Shane, and Hunter would keep their positions. And then if the buyer (Fox/ESPN) really wanted them out, they'd have to buy them out of their contracts. So the McMahon family would still be set for life regardless.
But whomever buys would probably want them to stay on. Because one things for sure, it wouldn't be easy to find someone who could fill those shoes so easily.

If they don't wanna repeat WCW with having people that know nothing bout wrestling in charge, you're right

On one hand, I can't see Vince willing to let it leave the family. The McMahons have been running that ish for four generations now, why on earth would he end it now.
On the other hand, if there was ever a member of that family crazy/selfish/greedy/stupid enough to do it, it's Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

I'm seeing a lot of this but it's only being reported on Facebook by tabloid newspapers. None of the wrestling dirt sheets.
Don't know what to belive as actual wrestling fans we all known what Vince is like and honestly it's hard to imagine him not dying at the helm or passing the company onto Shane, Steph and family. But with the world in the shitter right now and the collapse (again) of the XFL anything is possible.

First, this started and piled on off of a tweet Dutch Mantell posted where he basically was questioning a statement he heard. So he passed it off as fact but questioned the validity.
Here's my thoughts on how likely its true:

Well if they have spent their entire lives knowing they would someday take over, surely it would feel like a huge punch in the gut if the WWE, something that has been a huge part of their lives was suddenly snatched away. Shane, Steph and HHH live and breath WWE, they know how to run it, so it would be better with them in charge instead of people who have no clue about wrestling/sports entertainment.

Honestly, nothing would surprise me. Apparently another rumor I've seen here and there on various website's has pointed to Vince being very unhappy with the current landscape of things, and how out of touch he's been for quite some time (which just take a look at the product in recent years). Even though he's aging, and has his children/in-laws that seemingly have a better grasp and appreciation for the busines, why does he care, especially if he's been slowly losing interest and faith in what is ultimately his creation. Wasn't he recently appointed as one of Trump's underling's? Maybe he's shifting focus towards political aspirations, and wouldn't mind sacrificing WWE for further political leverage? Vince McMahon for President 2024? Even without WWE, Vince and his closest family/confidants are likely set financially for life, and then some. Yes, he's an old man, and it's statistically proven the mind begins to deteriorate for a lot of folks his age. Besides that, maybe his heart isn't in it anymore. That said, I understand this is a loosely based rumor, and Vince selling the company isn't quite as easy or cut and dry; there's many other factors and hands in the pot. But as Vince has stated and proven many times before, "Anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation!", *ahem*...

Just going off gut/top of the head reactions...
I don't see ESPN buying. ESPN is part of Disney. And I don't see WWE fitting into the Disney Empire. It has no real synergy with anything else in that corporation. I am afraid it would start looking like the lull periods of WCW.
I don't see Fox buying either. But out of the two, I see them as more likely. But Fox sold their entertainment industries and ips to Disney. They wanted out of the entertainment production side. So why would they turn around and buy an entertainment company that only really makes money off of nostalgia? That really hasn't built anything strong and in the pop culture for decades? Fox recently bought Tubi, and WWE programming would give them something to put on it.

Disney...interested in buying ultra violent ECW. so I wouldn’t discount their interest in this potentially. they own marvel, wwe is like a real life form of comics and would be a great attraction for them.

This rumor comes around every year and nothing comes of it.
As the old saying goes, I’ll believe it when I see it.

If he sells WWE it doesnt mean Vince will leave the company. So it may not improve the product itself 😔

I don't agree with someone calling Vince "stupid". The guy has over a billion dollars. You don't get that way being "stupid". With that being said. I couldn't imagine Vince ever leaving the WWE until he's dead. Bruce Prichard has even said there were meetings about what is going to happen after Vinces dies. There are contingency plans in place. And with the ratings low and whatnot, I can't see Vince selling, that would be like Vince giving up. And that won't happen.
