There's a older thread discussing peg stand size, with no definitive answer other than the older Jakks block logo stands. I found some 3D-printed stands available online in 3.0mm, 3.5mm, and 4.0mm and ordered all three sizes. The correct size that fit was 3.5mm. (The stands aren't usable for Hasbros, I just ordered to find out the correct size).
The closest available peg size to 3.5mm is 1/8". The main search term I found useful when searching is something like "Kenner Star Wars Vintage Stands" or just "Vintage Stars Wars Stands." A lot of stands marketed as "vintage" or "classic" share the same size and some actually list the 1/8" size in the description. Jakks block logo stands have 1/8" peg—this is really the only option I've seen discussed for the Hasbros.
Just FYI, anything using the 1/8" peg size will be just a tad too small for the Hasbros in some cases. In a complete collection, I had 12 or so that needed stands, and maybe 4 or 5 the peg hole was too wide for the 1/8" pegs to fit snugly, but they were still functional in helping the Hasbro figure stand up.
I was using the WWF block logo stands from the Jakks line, but using a full set of 70+ for my collection, they took up a lot of room. Plus, they're fairly expensive to buy 70+ stands. I searched around and found ones of various widths to display my figures, most without stands, but the ones that can't stand on their own, I would use pegs. For example:
Dusty, Piper, and Crush have 1" diameter stands. I found these useful for odd figure molds, the figures with articulation near the hip (Typhoon, Bigelow, etc.), and many with the clothesline action. They also stand through slight bumping of shelves (who hasn't accidentally bumped a Hasbro shelf and immediately regretted it?).
Rocker Shawn Michaels has a 2" diameter stand. The only figures I used these for are a few with the similar action (Marty, Snuka, Hawk, etc). I found the stands to be loose for these, but they still added the support they needed. The larger ones pictured are Protech AFS-2C.
I ended up saving a ton of space and if you're starting out, they're a lot cheaper than the Jakks block logo stands, and less obtrusive. Some of my collection with the block stands:
