Yes he was near the end as a singles wrestler but he still had star power, why not bring him in later? or even keep him in until Flair is left alone when Piper runs in
It just always kinda bothered me since I'm a huge MILLION DOLLAR FAN

I believe he had diarrhea that day and made an audible to get out fast to go take care of some business on the toilet.

To be honest.... I am just joking about the diarrhea bit ha ha ha BUT.... if the rumours of him being out partying with Flair the night before are true?? His stomach may have been feeling not the best and it is possible that's why he was out so quick.

I think Ted would have one of the bigger names in the earlier part of the match so it was probably better to have Flair in there by himself as probably the biggest name. It would probably hurt Ric a little having Ted staying in and working a bit with other guys. This was Flair's match.
Another reason could be to give the fans a big pop early on. With Ted being so disliked a quick elimination would get the fans going.

Ah yes, you see in the Royal Rumble Match, you always have to be vigilant and be aware of your surroundings... Don't let your guard down for a moment because you never know what will happen!
If Ted had remained focused and ensured he eliminated Bulldog, he would have lasted longer.
Silly Ted, letting his guard down like that!
