Why would Sting want anything to do with AEW? He probably left after watching MITB.

Dm crow sting was the pinnacle of sting. Nothing else will ever be truly needed unless you're a sting mark. I'm not. Peace out dude.

I don't understand how a line like Legends can fail? I mean there was so many people waiting for this preorder. So many people will buy multiples of each figure, soon as these things would hit stores they are sold out instantly. I just don't understand. In all my years collecting Mattel is the most in demand wrestling line I've ever seen. I've never seen a line of figures that are SO HARD to find at retail but yet I always hear about everything failing.

I mean say what you will but the first legends line was a failure, it’s been addressed a lot, you can debate why. Too early after Jakks, wrong superstars, wrong attires, too many sets too quickly. But it was a failure. To the point that the series was so backed up that discount stores were the primary recipient of the latter series. It’s not a debate that it failed, it failed. It’s been the demand since and the uptick in legends prices on the secondary market that they are giving this another shot.

how are people complaining about "lack of transparency" when theres a 300 friggin' page thread with THE GUY FROM MATTEL literally answering 50 questions a day about "can you guys make an elite of __________ (insert guy who's not under contract here)" CLEARLY when Steve was talking about Sting awhile back everything was fine. As we learned a few weeks ago when like a dozen active WWE wrestlers were fired, things can change VERY quickly. I'm sure we will find out at least some info on what happened with Sting in the near future, but just because Steve isn't rushing to this board to create a stickied thread detailing every single thing that happened with Legends 7 (after there was a 25 page thread yesterday where a lot of people were bashing him and mattel for something that wasn't in their control at all) is not surprising, nor is it even necessary Ya'll need to chill the out. Seriously.Yes it sucks the Legends 7 Sting appears to be cancelled. But it's not like that's the only Sting figure we've ever gotten and it's also not the worst thing that's ever happened the way some people are acting on here. We literally begged Mattel for the past 8 years to bring back the Legends line, they did...we all were able to pre-order it from Target's website today in the EASIEST way ever, which is another thing people have been complaining about (getting store exclusives) and yet people are STILL finding things to bitch about. Ok Charles Dickens.
I think people are more upset about the fact that the Sting thing had to have been known before preorders were going up. Someone asked AFA about MOC pics on the 9th before the original preorder date. I think that would have been an ideal time to share that information about Sting.
But god forbid news breaks on a forum about wrestling figures.

So I was thinking about Sting/Mattel a lot as I was finishing up my work day and etc. and I have to say, I know this will get me heat, but looking at the numbers I really don’t see how anyone can say that Mattel didn’t take advantage of having Sting available or hit every major era of his career.
By my count, over the 5 year period from 2015 to 2019, they released 15 mainline or exclusive Stings. 7 elites, 8 basics. The only bother legends I can think of that might have surpassed that number in that period are Macho Man and Warrior, and I’m not sure if even they broke that number.
The overall breakdown came to:
Elites: -3 Surfer Sting Flashbacks -2 WCW Crow Sting Flashbacks -2 WWE Modern Crow Stings
Basics: -4 Surfer Sting Flashbacks -2 WCW Crow Sting Flashbacks -2 WWE Modern Crow Stings
*Overall: -7 Surfer Sting Flashbacks -4 WCW Crow Sting Flashbacks -4 WWE Modern Crow Stings
*And if one argues that all Crow stings are the same, that’s still 8 Crow vs 7 Surfer Stings.
Now, once again to clarify: I definitely think there were parts issues, and there are 100% a bunch of surfer Sting attires I wish they had gotten to, BUT the idea that they didn’t make a bunch of Stings (NTM the retros, MOTU, monster, etc.) or that they were heavily skewed to the crow period really accurate to the numbers in my opinion.

How hard would it have been to say “hey guys some stuff happened with Sting beyond our control and he isn’t going to be in the set” on Friday when the whole thing got announced? People were so happy to be able to get Valentine directly from Target that it wouldn’t have been as big a deal. That would’ve been the best time to break the bad news. And he doesn’t have to answer all those can you make X questions. He ignores some questions. Personally I’d be fine with him never answering any question like that ever again. He’d answer a lot less questions but we’d know they were good questions when he does. He can do whatever he likes though.

People are complaining because an official Twitter account announced the pre-orders to go up on Sunday. They did not. There was no inkling or expectation that the Sting figure was getting cancelled. No one knew that plans changed until the day pre-orders went up. And people have the right to do so and express disappointment and frustration, whether you like it or not.

It just seems at this point AFA could personally hand deliver your Legend to your doorstep and you'd complain he's not social distancing

Not all of this is on Action Figure Attack/Steve Ozers. Some of it's on Target. Some of it's on Mattel. Some of it's on WWE and whoever webmasters the WWE Universe Twitter. 3. Nowhere have I personally attacked AFA or called him names or insulted him. I am simply speaking actual facts. So stop with the theatrics.

I wasn't pinpointing you, I was speaking to the entire thread in general, if you took it that way it's on you. And how was I being defensive? I'm not wrong.

Imagine making a trade deal in the classifieds, the guy shafts you and instead of being pissed at the guy you come on the forums and bitch about Jack & Ringside.
WWE lost the rights, not Mattel. Stop collecting if its affecting your life that much.

The crow and USA paint are the major moments of stings career. Add to that the batb attire and you have 3 major moments in the career of sting. Other wrestlers have 1 or 2 figs at most. Sting had 6 elites I believe.

Not sure if a 3 figure wave is a good thing.
I’m afraid there might be a peg warmer or two in the set which could jeopardize future waves.

Give and inch and take a mile. All this is going to do is chase him off the boards and I really wouldn't blame him.

No one truly knows how long they have known this or how long they have been working on this. For all they know they waiting til the last second cause the Wwe is still talking to Sting. People assume it’s Mattel’s fault when they have literally nothing to go off of except their own assumptions. I mean it’s only the beginning of May, for all we know his deal just expired, but because of travel etc they can’t even set up a meeting at this time. If the AEW is just what it is rumors, then I’m sure Sting will be resigned sealed and delivered shortly, and we will see plenty of Sting figures.
