Supposedly there's some kind of Sting documentary coming to the WWE Network that they're advertising, so who knows... Supposedly on the 31st. You are correct, sir. WWE just made it "official" today.

Worth noting that the Retromania video game tried to persue Sting and were unsuccessful.

What did sting get figure wise? 7 or 8 elites and a solid handful of basics? And yall whine about not enough?
I would hate to see some of you guys be fans of guys that get made once every 2 or 3 years.

I think we will see this figure get its eventual release. I’d say in under a year and a half too. For WWE to be promoting a documentary and another source stating they tried to pursue sting and couldn’t get him, seems like just a delay in his contract getting renewed, perhaps similar to Flair.

Personally, I buy each and every Sting, and while they made a ton of looks, I don't think they really hit a GREAT one when it comes to Surfer Stings, in my own opinion. Crow Sting, yeah, the DM was amazing. Wolfpac I was very happy with. HOF Sting with a basic head looks great for a 98-99 Sting. But Surfer Stings, I always associate with really bright colors, etc, and we got two of them in white. If they had done, say, the pink/pink look, I'd have been super happy and wouldn't complain about not getting exactly what I wanted. I was also not a fan of his entrance jackets. My hope was an Ultimate with multiple heads, in pink, and either a long entrance coat or an entrance jacket like Ultimate Bret where he can actually move his arms. Not getting that is the only reason I'm really "whining" about not getting more.

We can still get Booker Sting. It's not to late MDT.

For a guy that we'd all wanted in our WWE-scale collections for years, they did a jaw droppingly bad job with Sting. And don't get me started on those ing Retros of him, either.

Which brings me to my next point, yall expect too much for a $20, in some cases $10 toy. With inflation, these are literally the same price point as the $3.99 and $5.99 toys I grew up with in the 90s. Compare these to those. Yall want them to be $100 quality and detail on a $20 elite. You wanted sting, you got sting. Anyone that knows who sting is can look at that figure and say hey sting! Yall want every detail perfect and it's not possible. Maybe a new hobby would suit you better. My dm crow sting is just fine.

All the basics surfer & crow were a good 1/4” - 1/2” shorter than the elites. Until they corrected it with the Network Spotlight and the Undertaker 2-Pack. If that Starrcade ‘90 neon green b62(?) figure was the correct height I wouldn’t nearly be as upset as I am now, because at least I could display it in the front row on my shelves. But to not have a hot pink (BeachBlast’92) or an in scale neon green is very disappointing considering he is such an Icon and the face of WCW. And this is after I raised the heads on all the basics & e39 by putting some cotton in the heads. If they were all in scale with their elite counterparts I wouldn’t nearly be as upset. Am I disappointed? Yup 100%. Am I cursing anyone out? No, I’ve moved on. This is the first post I think I have made since two or three days since AFA confirmed he was off the table.

kennyw86v2 if that neon green Sting was the size as the basic Network Spotlight & Elite Surfer Sting I would still be disappointed that we didn’t get more surfer Sting figures but I would have been happy that I got the GAB attire and the signature Starrcade ‘90 neon green. But the Starrcade ’90 figure being so out of scale ruins it for me, because you really can’t display it as a focal point with other figures on the shelves.

And that seems such a simple thing to just use the same parts and stay within the scale you have used before.

Now the last Basic Orton and McIntyre figures are a good half of head shorter than their elites

It’s a shame that the Legends Series 7 Sting had to be cancelled but fingers crossed it eventually gets slotted back in if he re-signs. I actually have a really cool memory to do with Sting and WWE. I had to have emergency surgery to have my colon removed in November 2014 around the time Sting debuted at Survivor Series and I was so happy and actually helped my mindset going into surgery as it was something I really wanted for him to have a Wrestlemania match before he retired and to get those Mattel figures 😁 So it really helped me to get through the recovery as the Mattel figures were announced during that time. I actually got the chance to meet Sting on October 5th 2015 and told him (quite emotionally) about the surgery, thanked him and gave him a hug 💙 (Sorry if the photo is really huge, I don’t know how to resize it 🙈)

You are a brave person, and I hope you are healthy and happy today. That picture is pretty bad ass.
