Chicken crap heel Sami doesn't interest me much anyway tbh. If he's gonna be off TV it's logical to take the title off him. Heel Sami is the only Sami I've ever been able to tolerate

I was just starting to get behind coward Sami as champion after WrestleMania, but it makes sense that if he isn't comfortable performing that they put the title on someone active. I really hope they take the opportunity to kind of reboot the Intercontinental Championship as the workhorse title again by putting it on someone like Bryan or Gulak. I'd love if they positioned the title as more of a pure wrestling title for more technically sound performers.

I think Sami is doing the best work of his career on the mic. So it's disappointing to not get an interim tournament instead of this outright stripping of the title. His starts and stops are frustrating. I think the talent is unquestionably there with him, but he just can't put any kind of long run together from an in-ring standpoint anymore.
I'd like to see Elias win the title. I think this is an opportunity to get him back on track after months of horsesh*t with Corbin. People have a short memory. He's capable of being as over as anyone on that roster because we've seen it.

The funniest part to me is how he's going to return and cut a promo about responsibility to his family and to the people around him; how his health and everyone else's health was more important than wrestling because we are in unprecedented times.
And Vince is going to think that is the biggest heel he's got.
Its funny that he's kind of like that "liberal" or "social reform supporter" character on-camera and who he seems to be in real-life online, and Vince sees that as a bad guy.
Maybe I'm way off-base and I'm definitely not trying to begin some kind of political talk AT ALL, it's just what I've noticed watching his character grow. It's maybe turned all the way up to get heat but what he's saying and how he acts certainly seems that way to me.

I just hope Zayn comes back as a babyface. I never bought him as a heel.

Never got the benefit of the "hate the messenger, not the message" from the old SES angle either.

Great example-- I totally forgot about this one in context.

Exactly. A heel can be right, or ultimately be trying to do the right thing, but that doesnβt make them a good person.

Cesaro is not even in the tournament, so to be honest Iβm sort of uninterested. I get the feeling Jeff is gonna lose early to Sheamus, and itβs gonna be AJ vs Bryan, which tbh is honestly kinda meh to me. But hey, it be what it be...

But it's interesting that he got stripped while the cruiser weight title is only interim. Sami chose not to wrestle, Devlin didn't. I thought wrestlers weren't supposed to be punished if they wanted to sit out right now though?

WWE isn't forcing him to wrestle, they aren't going to hold it against him when he returns, but they want their title for the shows that are continuing on. Makes all the sense in the world if people would put down the torches and pitchforks long enough to think.

Cool gif, but completely different scenarios.
They knew when Brock would return. They knew when to build up a match for the WWE/Universal title. They have no idea when the pandemic would be over, they have no idea when Zayn will return.

Itβs not a big deal. Vacating the title is the right thing to do if Sami might sit out for months.
