Why didn’t this match happen at wrestlemania 6? They could had a match than went there separate ways with there new managers And have Mr Fuji dump them For the orient express

I think the reason it didn't happen was because they were both going to remain heels. Usually, when tag team members face off when disbanding the team one usually is the face and one is the heel. In this case both guys were going to remain heel. Also, from a shoot interview with both these guys years back they said that they were both going to get a push and work with Hogan and Warrior - Warlord with Hogan and Barbarian with Warrior. My guess is they wanted them to look strong so having one lose in a match at WM6 wouldn't help them going forward.

A lot of times back in that era managers would give other managers members of their stables. They kept both guys as heels, who was fed to both these guys to get them credible as heels at the PPVs was Tito Santana. Barbarian fared pretty well with the Heenan Family.

In retrospect I wish WWE had left them as a team but repackaged them to be less LOD-ish. Use Barbarian's woods inspired look, but for both of them.

Yeah, it seemed like Tito Santana was the guy that worked with new or repackaged guys first at PPVs. If I remember correctly, he was the first opponent for The Model SSL89, Barbarian WM6, Warlord SSL90, Repo Man Tuesday in Texas 91, HBK WM8, and Papa Shango SSL92. He was also the Mountie first televised PPV match when they wrestled at WM7, the Koko/Mountie match at RR91 did not air nor was it added to the VHS tapes. It was almost like Tito was used to see if the new/repackaged guy was ready for the big shows.

They definitely put em with the correct mangers post Fuji run. Yeah, both Barbarian and the Warlord needed a manager who could do their talking, Heenan and Slick were great choices. Shame both guys never got their run or at least a big match at SNME with Hogan and Warrior.

Both guys were ultimately meant to be singles wrestlers, or at least Warlord definitely was. There was also a rumor that when the Road Warriors were negotiating to come to the WWF, they wanted the Powers of Pain to be split because there would be too many tag teams with the same gimmick as them around.

The Barbarian was really a barbarian. The Road Warriors wouldn't mess with him much like his best friend Haku.

Poor Tito.
Did the job to Barbarian at Wrestlemania VI, then does the job to the Warlord at SummerSlam 90. Dominated by the Powers of Pain in back to back PPVs.
Of course the Warlord went on to make a real mark in the wrestling business when he changed his name to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

There is no shame to lose to The Barbarian.

Did strike force face the power of pain? can’t find anything on YouTube No as Rick Martel left the company to aid his wife not long before they came in.
The only interaction they had was when Martel and Barb were in the Rumble 89 together there towards the end of it.

They were perfect together. The less time in the ring the better. As a team they could take advantage of that. Having said that, I liked the Warlord WAY more. He looked MASSIVE.

Is that why Martel did the bad neck injury from Fuji's cane then in 1988 to take time off??

I would have rather seen them as a tag team with the outfits they wore post break up. It would have given a little more life to them without only beating jobbers and being on the losing end to guys like Tornado, Bulldog and other upper mid card faces. They could still be managed by Fuji as I think he only had Orient Express at the time. I can see LOD being bitter about Powers leaving NWA before the scaffold match and holding it against them. 1990 Powers could feud with LOD and keep Demolition face but the problem would be LOD was signed probably to be the top face team at the time. Also Powers could feud with the Hart Foundation as they didn't really have a main feud as champions. Power & Glory were also a Bushwhacker level team so Rockers deserved a little better.

I could see the Road Warriors being angry and The Barbarian laughing in their face.

They wrote em off when Demo hit their Decapitation finisher on the floor. But yeah his wife was ill at the time so this was his exit until early 89.
