POP were disbanded because The Road warriors were almost signed. But Vince jumped the shark here...since he was disbanding them? have them do the job on the way out as a team.
I would have retained POP as a team for a while. They would & should have been LODs first feud in the WWF. They disband after POP wipe the floor with them. This can establish a feud with Fuji in the process that would ultimately incorporate the Demolition heel turn.
Seems like POPs fate in WWF was always tied to Hawk & Animal....signed in 88 for the role Vince wanted the Road Warriors for & failed in it leading to the Demolition face turn. disbanded in 1990 the minute Vince knew he had Hawk & Animal squared away.
