This is likely the same situation they had with Bliss. The concussions are enough to keep them out of the ring but their ability/skills & popularity are too much to keep them off the shows. Joe surprisingly does a pretty good job in the booth. Not something Id ever expect

Joe put on a lot of weight and continued to wrestle the same style. I always thought his body fell apart because of it. The back to back concussions were almost certainly the final daggers.
Guys running their bodies to the ground is one thing, but head trauma this day in age (especially in a guy Joe's age and with his experience) isn't going to fly. Wouldn't surprise me if they forced him out of the ring.
poopty way for a guy like Joe to go out.
As for him on the desk, he's poop.

I dont see him being done wrestling. Drew McIntyre needs good opponents and there are not many of them. In a couple months I think he will be back maybe for summerslam

Joe's gotten too injury prone and the wear and tear have clearly taken a toll on him.

They brought him in 10 years too late. You can tell Joe is in pain every time he goes out there. Sure, he should go out on better terms, but I’m all for guys being protected. He suffered 2 back to back concussions, on top of his body visibly breaking down. He’s a damn good announcer and is far better than anyone else other than Nigel, IMO.

I wouldn't rule out Joe returning someday, ala Edge's unlikely return, but he should definitely consider his in-ring days mostly, if not completely, over. He gave a stellar effort, and he has an amazing body of work, but concussions aren't something to collect just so he could continue to build that body of work.

His WWE was never that great tbh, he probably would have just been tagging alongside Kevin Owens and doing nothing significant. He peaked his prime around 2011, since then he hasn't been that great. Probably due to his heavily taped knees/legs.

I love Joe. I think a couple years off announcing, and he can come back and give it one more big run.

He will also have a highly successful podcast within 5 years. I imagine him getting into that.

Probably for the best. He’s way too unreliable to slot into any long-term stories, and he’s not a big enough star to be a special attraction. I guess it could be cool with him being a commentator who occasionally wrestles, as we’ve seen with Lawler and others over the years.

I dont see him being done wrestling. Drew McIntyre needs good opponents and there are not many of them. In a couple months I think he will be back maybe for summerslam I mean if he takes some time off, lets his head and body recover, maybe works on shedding a bit of the mass to put less stress on his joints, it might help him out. But he's still 41 years old, and father time does no jobs as JR says. It's gonna be tough to completely revamp himself, but I think he could possibly still do stuff in the ring. Joe is one of my favorite workers, but that bump he took back in his match with Sting way back when was just a bad idea. It couldn't have helped his longterm health and mobility. Joe is a madman and will do anything for his craft, I get that, but this move was just stupid and ill advised. I respect wrestlers so much and what they are willing to do in order to give us a great performance, but bumps like that are just stupid and pointless. I would rather guys don't do moves like that and risk shortening their careers.

Joe has had the worst luck with his injuries. Always right before a major angle or during 'Mania season

Damn that is unfortunate. He never got to win a world title on the main roster which must suck. He got a mid card belt at least but he didn't have a memorable run with the US Title and if you can choose most would pick IC.. There is always a chance he could come back like Bryan/Edge so maybe he'll get good news in the future.

He’s this generation’s Kevin Nash in terms of injuries, but at least we get Joe on commentary every week. With Nash, it was just the rare appearance.
