I just got back into wrestling figures after about a 20 year break and have picked up some of the Ultimate Editions and really love them. I’ve yet to pick up any Elites but was wondering how do they compare in terms of compatibility and uniformity?

They are in scale with Elites, just have more articulation and swappable accessories.

I don’t own any Ultimates. I only collect Elites and 9/10 they knock it out of the park. Sometimes you get QC issues(Loose joint/Paint chipping) but they’re usually awesome.
Edit: crap I didn’t read the question. They’re basically elites with more articulation and accessories

Basically Mattel’s entire line is in scale to one another. Basics, Elites, and Ultimates are in scale. Basics have lost some articulation though, and they were already the least articulated. Elites have a good amount of articulation and usually have a lot of deco and have accessories. Ultimate Edition is the absolute top of the line in terms of the amount of articulation, deco, accessories, and interchangeable parts.

Also, the elites and ultimates are the same from the waist down. Ultimates added articulation is in the elbows, a different torso piece, and butterfly shoulders coming in a later series.

They’re totally in scale with each other, and the only real noticeable difference being the torso articulation. (Personally, I actually like the UE torsos better than the Elites, but that’s an uncommon opinion). Here’s a couple of Elite 23 Triple H and the UE Shawn and Bret I took when messing around with some figure photography.

I’m with you, was starting to get discouraged with Mattel’s Elite Line, they were getting more and more skimpy on accessories and things. Some Elites are basically just a figure. But I’m blown away by the UE. I already have four with plans to get most of the upcoming ones and Ronda.

I honestly like the articulation on the ultimates more than the elites. My only problem is that they are a tad more expensive than elites. Ultimates are pretty much the same articulation of some "unrivaled" competition that is coming out. So that should be interesting to see if they make the price on ultimates drop a little.

They are the same scale and share some common parts. The UE has added articulation and often swappable parts and more accessories. The added articulation includes double jointed elbows, a toe bend and a different torso swivel style.

I'm fine with Ultimate for the people that want them, but I'm sticking with Elite. That's my preferred style, and I just don't want to invest in a new articulation/figure style right now.

I’ve not bought a single ultimate yet. I’m excited for Hollywood though

I think I’ll start my collection with the Ultimate line cause they don’t seem to mix well with the Elite line. Hopefully they stick with the Ultimate line.

That used to be the case but lately there’s been quite a few basics that are out of scale with their Elite counterparts. The last BP DB is a half of head taller than his Elites while the last Basic Orton and McIntyre are a half a head shorter than their Elite counterparts just to name a few.

Did not know this. Sad that Mattel is slipping on that part a bit. That’s one of their best selling points.
