Wouldn't be a TNT wrestling show without a wild brawl to end it

Solid show. Nothing too memorable outside of the main event, though.

I'm damn impressed with Marq Quens selling in that match. If he puts that much thought into his future work, he's got an even bigger upside then people thought after seeing the flashy moves.
The ending was quite AEW, and I'm not tired of em yet.

enough with the brawls to end the show, geez. I’m cool if it leads to a 4vs4

The really great flashy guys still know how to tell stories, it's just in a different way with a different move set.

Jeez... Hangman/Kenny vs bucks went down as one of, if not the greatest tag match of all time. If FTR and young bucks meet in 2020 and pull it off, they could top it. What a crazy great year for tag team wrestling.

Only Chris Jericho could beat Orange Cassidy with an entire sack of oranges.

Solid show. Nothing too memorable outside of the main event, though. What about the opener??

Blah, Hager vs. Cody is the TNT title match I wanted the least. I still haven't watched Hager vs. Moxley from like two months ago.

^Only watch Hager vs Mox if you are having trouble sleeping, it was slow paced and had none of the brutality that they was hyping for weeks, loads of stalling on the outside, moving like snails to the next spot. Horrible main event.
Decent show tonight, loved the beat down on Orange, opener with the revival (sorry i meant f uck the revival) was good, main event was a highlight reel for Quen, was obvious he was losing by submission but it was entertaining enough. Jericho is golden on coms, hopefully he becomes a full time one once he retires.

Someone on twitter told Dax Hardwood that FTR are “Scottie Pippen good” and used it as an insult. Scottie Pippen was the ing man so it made me laugh lol

I think the idea is with Arn coaching him, he can win with any move, since they're always attacking the weakness and playing to their opponent. It's not just Cody, though he's been the most prominent. They've been working in more "signature move" finishes and non-standard ends to matches for a while now. It's all about re-conditioning the audience. While there's still a lot of finisher spam, particularly in big matches, I love that they're moving away from the "a match can only end after your finishing move." It's one of those more classic wrestling elements that I absolutely love, and makes matches more realistic and enjoyable for me.

Too many people are used to the WWE style where people have 1 finisher and when they hit it, that’s the match. I prefer guys having multiple ways to end the match.

Too many people are used to the WWE style where people have 1 finisher and when they hit it, that’s the match. I prefer guys having multiple ways to end the match. Probably the most jarring thing for me when I came back to wrestling in 2014 was that EVERY match ended with a finisher. It felt like watching a video game, and has only become worse as Brock and Goldberg matches basically consist of nothing but finishers. From a storytelling perspective, having a wider range of ways to end a match just makes you that many more tools both in the match and telling long term stories. And it keeps an audience fresh, because the end of a match isn't as predictable. It's so easy to forget that there are grown adults who have never watched anything but post-Attitude WWE style.

Overall I loved the show last night. FTR/B&B was definitely one of my favorite tag matches of the past year. It was great to see a no-frills, straight up tag wrestling match. And the main event exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds.
What the heck is going on with Allie? I don't watch Dark, but it sounds like she just sort of randomly became QT's on screen girlfriend? I thought she was working well as the Bunny, even if they weren't doing much with the character. This is 3 gimmicks and 2 alignment changes in 9 months, and it completely kills the character for me. I was looking forward to seeing how AEW used Allie coming out of some great character work in Impact, but this has been a mess.
