they look a lot different from the protos...much lighter and the faces are weird. hmmmm im not sure about these things.
the deco and packaging however is top notch and i LOVE the re-inclusion of "chase" figures as 1/500s honestly i hope the line succeeds because we will have a lot of cool "crossover" options, and i really want to get modern figures of some of the guys in AEW like Colt, Daniels, Kaz, etc.

So they all pretty much have the same body. I was hoping they would at least have a few sizes of arms to use. Cody & the Bucks seem to share the same upper body & skinny arms, but Jericho is beefier up top & his arms are slightly bigger. Omega has his own ripped torso, jacked arms & veins everywhere. Adam Page has a slightly doughier upper body different from Jericho. I’d say parts have been varied enough for the small handful of talent we’ve seen so far. Why does Omega have black hair? His actual hair has his dark roots with blonde or silver ends...it looks pure black in these photos? There's a running change coming for Omega's hair.Yes I know Jericho has a different body. And I know Page does as well. I was talking about series 1 with three of the four daring the same upper bodies. I was hoping it would be like Mattel where there would have at least been more arm molds for series 1. I think Mattel had 4 or 5 sets when they launched... Big show arms HHH Large ripped Punk regular arms Rey Small arms Orton small ripped So I was hoping this would be the same where there’d be a few options. Because I think Cody should have more defined arms than the Bucks. And I think Ambrose will also use those arms.

Yikes; Omega definitely looks rough with the ultra dark hair combined with the light skin tone. I ordered the Omega with the AEW ring also so hopefully that one turns out more accurately.
Hopeful that future figure scans will have better paint jobs. AEW is the best brand going right now and they deserve to have some great figures. The more I look at the scans/paint jobs the more it bothers me.

So with these looking off at times compared to what we saw at toyfair, can we really trust that will be getting a new series every 2 months? And if so what will the quality end up being.
Let's stay positive and hope things get smoothed out on series 1

I like the packing, accessories and bodies but man the paint job on the faces look awful in my opinion, and I loved the way they looked in past showings. Very bummed out as AEW is my favorite brand and there’s so many names there I want good figures of. Someone nailed it when they said there’s a porcelain look to some of the faces.
I really hope they improve over time as I’d love to get AEW’s roster in figure form.

As far as I know, the protos at Toy Fair were hand painted/decaled. So these are the first time we're seeing anything straight from the factory.
There's a lot I like - the deco and accessories are top notch. But faces almost have a porcelain doll quality, at least on Cody and the Bucks. I'm not sure what the issue is - is it the paint app? The quality of the plastic? But they just look off.
There's a lot to love here. But the head is such a big part of any figure. I really hope they're able to improve their process moving forward.

I think they all look great. Hyped! Hopefully this means we’re not far off from Ringside getting them in. Hopefully! My preorders still say early July for Cody and Jericho. And mid-July for my Bit of the Bubbly Jericho. But who knows if they got pushed back because of COVID.

Pros: Really good accessories Great paint apps on the attires Nice packaging Unique parts for particular wrestlers.
Cons: The plastic for the bodies looks REALLY thin Face paint jobs are very rough(mostly Jericho. And why are Cody’s lips so shiny?) Brandi’s Lobster hands Kenny looking Sheamus pale.
The glams looked WAY!!! Better. Not really surprised, considering who’s in charge... it was a very “Jakks” thing to do.

Most guys on the AEW roster are fairly small and have similar body types. So I don't know that I necessarily needed to see a bunch of different parts combos in this series. But I was hoping that they might have a little more parts variety than Mattel - a small ripped arm and a less toned version, for example. Kenny also looks to have the small arms, when he very obviously should have something more lean/ripped. And if guys like Cody and Kenny who should see plenty of repaints aren't getting unique tooling, that's not something that has me feeling great moving forward.

Jericho turned out the best - and I'm only getting him, anyway... couldn't give a flying about the others.

A little disappointed I preordered the whole set. Not loving how these came out. Series 2 is going to have to blow me away for me to keep collecting these.

These look terrible compared to the original prototype images. The plastic looks cheap, skin tones are off and look unfinished, and the faces look like those from bootlegs.
I know, that sounds negative, but it's also true. Such a shame. Maybe they will look better on release, or subsequent waves will look better.
These are shit.

How does a hand painted figure end up looking so much better than a face print/machine painted figure? It doesn’t add up to me Magic's painting skills deserve some major credit. But seriously - there are some pretty glaring factory issues. Lack of wash in Kenny's hair, the purple is way too dark on his gear, face printing. As far as I know, these are the first figures Jazwares has done using real characters. You can probably get away with a larger margin for error on Pokemon or Fortnite figures than an actual person's likeness. It's also possible they had to rush due to COVID in order to hit target dates to hit shelves. I'm hoping they can address issues moving forward. But right now Jericho is the only definite buy for me when I expected to buy the full set. I'll probably wait to see how the Cody and Kenny with a the rings look and may pick those up if they look better. And even though I love those Bucks jackets, I may wait until we get a more colorful gear now.

So glad I ended up not pre-ordering these. They look horrible.
Most look like a weird mix of a porcelain doll, Barbie doll and cheap dollar store knock-offs.
Still going to wait until they start shipping out and seeing some in-hand pictures. As of now, this series is an unfortunate hard pass.

Actually think they look pretty good besides Brandi and Omega's hair and skin tone issue. Not terrible for a debuting series and think that both Jericho & Cody look pretty spot on.Again biggest issue is Omega's hair and skin tone, they also don't have to have the same type of darkness around the eyes, works for Jericho & Cody but not so much for the rest of the figures.Still hyped to get these in the next month or so and sure that as the series goes along things will improve.Just look at the Mattle Elite series from when it started until now.
